settil habayeb ya habeeba
oh the master of the beloved ones, oh my love
ya aghla me roohy we damy
you're more precious than my soul and my blood
ya hnayina we kolek teeba
oh you're tender and full of goodness
ya rabbi ykhaliki ya omi
god keep you for me my mom
zaman sherty we t'ebti w shelti men 3omri layali
in the past you stayed sleepless at night, got tired holding me for many nights of my life
we lessa bardou delwa'ti btehmeli el hami bedali
and now you still enduring the hurt on my behalf
anam we teshary we tbati tfakari
i sleep and you don't,you stay thinking at night
we teshi men el adahn we tiji tcha'ari
and you wake up since the (adhan*) and you check on me
te'ichi li ya habebti ya omi
may you live for me my mother my beloved
we ydomli redhaki
and may your satisfaction last for me
ana rouhi men rouhek enti
my soul is from yours
we aycha men serri doaki
the reason i live is your nice wishes for me
bethessi befarheti ablel hana bsana
you feel my joy even before one year
we t'hessi bchakweti men able ma ahes ana
you feel my complains before i do
ya rabbi ykhaliki ya omi.
god keep you for me my mom
ya rabbi ykhaliki ya ommi
god keep you for me my mom
law echt toul omri awfi jamaylek el ghaliya alaya
if i live my whole life to pay you back
ajeeb menin omre yekfi
how can i get enough age(years) for it?
we alaki fin aghla hadiya
and where i can find the most precious gift?
nour ini we mohjeti we hayati we donyeti
my eye light,my soul,my life and my world
la terdhi tebalihom dol homma hadiyeti
if you accept them ,then they are my gift to you
ya rabbi ykhaliki ya omi ,settil habayeb ya habeeba

Also thanks for the information, i found that song when i was searching Ramy Sabry's unreleased songs.( I completely agree with you about Ramy Sabry, he has a wonderful voice and I love his songs very much)
Actually I can read Arabic but not so goodIf I have more songs to be translated, i will bother you again
![]()
And you know I'm always ready to help you for Turkish lyrics. Just let me know and i can do it at any time![]()
not at all pinar85 you're welcome anytime
it was a pleasure for me to help you
i know that some turkish people can read in arabic but i wrote in latin in case you can't read a word
there's no bothering, don't say that again whenever you need help you know who to ask ,ok?
yes ramy is very loved in the arabic world but i didn't know he's popular in turkey he'll be happy if i tell him that he's known in there !lol!
his songs are very romantic and calm .
well, i'm crazy about turkish so expect me to ask you about some translations and thanks in advance
Thank you for your kindness larosa!
Ramy Sabry is my favourite recently, everyone around me knows him cos they keep hearing his songs all the time in my roomand even my mobile is ringing with "hateb3ed youm" :P i have big interest in arabic language and culture, so i enjoy listening to him and also other arab singers. i hope it will help me while TRYING to learn arabic
(About turkish translations and songs, it will be a pleasure to help. Emre Altuğ is one of the bestvery handsome guy and has beautiful voice!!! i can provide info or songs in case you cant find on internet.)
since you're intersted in arabic culture i'll be glad to help you anytime you want
it will be a pleasure, believe me anything and anytime.
if you need any arabic songs or informations about any arabic singer i'll be glad to help you in this domain ,don't hesitate to ask about anything
thanks for the offering ,you're spoiling me, really ,i really need to improve my knowledge concerning turkish music
yes, emre is very handsome his beauty is italian ,i also love ismail yk very much .
it's very wierd how you're intersted in arabic culture in i'm interested in the turkish one don't you think?
Yes, larosa, it is weird and also nice that we are interested in our cultures. Actually we have so much things in common, we do not have totally different cultures. i have always been interested in arabic, i had the chance to go to U.A.E. and Algeria. Now i have Egypt,Tunisia and Morocco on my listI hope, INSHALLAH, i will go and see these places, too.
If you have time, i will ask for your help about differences in arab language. As i told you, i try to learn it by myself but i know that there are many dialects (especially in Algeria, Morocco etc., the way they speak arabic is completely different than standart arabic). So when i learn standart arabic, will I be understood in all arab countries?
good for you! u.a.e is a great country ,also saudi arabia is beautiful,
i think you should visit egypt . arabic people call it the mother of the world(dunya) ,you will really be fascinated by its civilization and culture although it's crouded and a little bit poor but people there are very kind and gentel believe me
tunisia is very small comparing to egypt and morocco (ten times smaller)but it contains the most beautiful places in the world ,i'm not saying that cause it's my country but one i went on an excursion with my friends and i was like wow!
yes, as you mentioned there are many dialects and accents and sometimes totally different words ,
algeria and morocco have the same accent they anderstand each other and sometimes they speak in frensh especially in algeria since she was under the french colonization for more than 120 years and it was called little france(la petite france)
you're right turkish and arabic culture are not that different ,especially in tunisia we still have the trace of the ottman ampire
sure, standard arabic is understood by every arabic person,we learn it at school since we were kids and even though we didn't it's in our blood since we use the quran .so don't worry learning standard arabic will be more than enough
meanwhile if you decided to learn all the kinds then you will be lost and confused since we have more than 20. but belive me i will be beyond happy if i help you in that ,so if you need anything don't hesitate at all, i'll always be there whenever you need me.

I know i ask too much but can u pls translate msh faker leek - again by Ramy Sabry? Also settil habayeb's lyrics are so nice and touching, a perfect song that can be written to a mother.
Pinar85: Yes every Arab in Arab country can understand you when you talk the clasic Arabic. Allot of Arabs could also understand Egyptian-Arabic.
Thats because of the music.... I mean if you say barsha to a lebanese guy he will know that it means allot(kteer)
Last edited by arabpride; 08-04-2007 at 05:36 AM.
true ,egyptian is well understood becuase of the songs , the series and movies also
barsha means= a lot in tunisia we also say "yesser"
in algeria and morocco the sya"bezzef"
in lybia they say"halba"
in egypt the say "awee"
in libanon and tha golf they say"kteer"
you see? the word a lot has a lots of synonymes in the arabic world
larosa and arabpride, thank you for your explanations but i started being kinda afraid:PP if one word has that much equivalents, i can't imagine which one to learn?? well, ok, i know that i should try hard and i shouldn'T give up.
but i'm just a beginner and have a very long way to go![]()

if you need anything just tell me don't fel shy ok?
mosh faker leek wala haga thannen albi alik
i don't remember anything of you, that makes my heart be tender with yours
mosh faker leek ghir ennak be'teni yoom bi idik
i only remeber that you betrayed me one day
gar'hak wa azabak liya wa bo'dak anni zaman
your hurts ,the sorrows you caused and you being away from me
all these affected me and make me also frustrated

this song is a duo with the syrian singer "asala nasree"she seems to support ramy so much and they are going to do the clip in europe and the director of the klip will be asala's husband
i hope you like the news
if you need any thing just ask , consider me as your sister ok?
don't worry! not all of the words have many equivalents ,but i'm not gonna lie it will take you a lot to learn all the arabic languages really
exemple the words
"ras"means head
"in" means eyes
"korsy"menas chair
"kalb" means heart
"ardh" means earth
but with little difference of pronouciation
another exemple
the word second means "thaniaton" in standard arabic
in egyptian it will be "saniaya"
in libanese and gulf will be "saniyeh"
in tunisia it will be "theniya"
you see?
only pronounciation diffirences
,don't tire your self just learn standrad arabic, and also agyptian seems fine and also fun believe me lol! and i wanna tell you since you can speak english you're not gonna face many problems .especially in gulf and midlle east countries
but in north afrika we understand more the french language not all of us can speak english jus a few
well i wanna go to turkey too you don't know how much i am fasinated by it ,and it's more beautiful than tunisia

my dear sister, thank you very much, you are really so kind and helping me a lot. (if you are using msn messenger, u can add me to your msn list, we can help each other more) i will follow your advice, i also think that standart arabic or egyptian arabic is suitable for me. we have many arabic words because we used to live with arabs during ottoman empire, and we are so used to each other. for the word second, we say saniye in turkish, too. and kalb is heart and many more...
everybody says that speaking english is enough for me. cos as you say, many arab can speak english and in north africa countries they speak mostly french. but i want to speak arabic since i love arab culture and language so much, and also arabic is the language of our holy book QORAN.
you want to come to Turkey? you can be sure that Istanbul is very very nice and and you are always welcome to our country (Tunisia is very interesting and beautiful, too, i've seen it on TVunfortunately i only saw it on TV
). if u ever decide to come, just let me know. i can help you with everything. when u have the chance, you should take your time and come here
![]()
Larosa if u can come to istanbul we can keep in touch with pınar85 for you [DİMİ PINAR ] and when u come we can help u here in istanbul =') my brother's wife is from moroco. sometimes she translate me the songs but we dont live together so when we come together i find chance to ask...
by the way my brother and her wife went to moroco,is a beautiful country
inshallah we ll go one day.
i know people from egypt ,cairo.we were colleague when they came to istanbul for exhibition.i was their translatorbut in English.because this time arabic wasnt good at all...
to me,the lebanese arabic is much easier than egyptian arabic.
and all the songs i listen is song with lebanese arabic .
that is why i like lebanese may be![]()
Yes, asidashy is right, we will be very happy to help you if u come to Istanbul
oooh i like this song very mush i sing it for my mother
