such a sweet song as well ... who wrote it actually? Kathem by himself?

Thanks from me also for the translation..I thin I would have requested it as well *smile*

Anyway I wouldn't translate "habibti" and "habibi" with "my Baby", but rather with "my Beloved" or something like that...sounds better to me...but that's poetic freedom

    Cordially

yeah ,jihan kadhem writes and composes his songs by himself, otherwise if it is a fus'ha song then the great "nizar kabbani" wrote it

you know dear i rely more on american english that's why i used the word baby

you're welcome ,i know you're a fan of kadhem, his great but i prefer his old songs

Well, and I prefer British English *smile*..but that's no problem...

yes, I like the older songs by Kathem better as well...to me the last album has predominately not been made for the matter of music but for the matter of business...that was my view...there was only one "pearl" which was Madinat El Hob, and even the Nizar Qabbani songs disappointed me, as they had not been as special as they used to be...anyway...he's still a great artist

u're absolutley right jihan, the last album was so commercial, may be because there are many romantic singers than before so he's trying his best to be always on top ,but hurry can't drive any benifits as far as i 'm concerned, all the old arabic artist have lost their glory ,they're not as brilliant as before ,like najwa jaram, kadhem, latifa, nawal ezzoghbi, diana haddad, pascal meshalani.....

that's a matter of Rotana, I think...I don't know if they're going to separate, I mean Kathem and the record lable, but I think it would benefit his music. There is no use of hurrying in publishing one album per year. He should take his time to produce an amazing album. I don't need an annual Kathem-LP if it is commercial like that.

Truly, many former stars of arabic music make music today rather because of business instead of the magic of music itself.

I don't know, but Kathem is such a talented artist, such a great composer. He shouldn't be the one who competes, but others should compete with him. That's what I think!

Already, Najwa, Nawal and so on are not more than Pop Singers by now...there music is not challenging, rather fast food or something like that. It's a pity

I live in Germany...and I am German as well (just now I'm asking myself how many Germans might listen to Kathem El Saher...)

Well I didn't love evry song...the song which slew me was Madinat El 7ob...and I like Ato7eboni, 7ob, Ensa ... but it was really commercial...I miss the great orchestral arrangement...I prefer it like that. I don't like the Pop Style

Jihan : I thought u were middle eastern since ur name is arabic
but it's nice that you listen to arabic music.
maybe if you understood the meaning of the songs (in kathem's album) you'd like them better

it's not only about the lyrics...it's about the music as well...and in the latest album there was only one masterpiece, which was madinat el 7ob...so touchy...I do like many of the songs on the album, but I wouldn't rank them upon one level with songs like Ikhtari, Mostabeda, Wa Eni O7ebuki or Al7ob al mosta7eel...that's my view...there are many songs which might have nice lyrics (like Kol Am Wa Anty Habibti) but I don't like they way of the music, which drifts into a poppy way. I'm more the classical type of listener...if I want to listen to Arabic Pop, and good Pop, I can listen to Amre Diab, you know.

Anyway, the album wasn't bad...but it wasn't the best either
