Thank you very much Oriee. It´s really a very touching song about the suffering of the palestinians who lived in Jerusalem.

I have some questions about the lyrics :

    1) If شوارع القدس العتيقة means the streets of the old Jerusalem so how do you say in arabic The old streets of Jerusalem ?

    2) Is مريت correct ? I guess it should be marart(u) - I walked

    3) بغربة العذاب - May I traslate them into suffered/ painful exile ?

    4) الايدين السودا the black/dirty hands mean the Israelies ?

    Thanks again Oriee

    Default Welcome

ye it is I agree with you totally
it's about the suffuring of all palestinian through ages

    1) If شوارع القدس العتيقة means the streets of the old Jerusalem so how do you say in arabic The old streets of Jerusalem ?

it will be الشوارع القديمة للقدس
note that in شوارع القدس العتيقة we described Jerusalem...يعني صفى للقدس
and in the second one we described the streets...صفة للشوارع

    2) Is مريت correct ? I guess it should be marart(u) - I walked
yes marartu is correct but because she not using formal arabic or what we call fos7a

    3) بغربة العذاب - May I traslate them into suffered/ painful exile ?
I think your translation is more specific

    4) الايدين السودا the black/dirty hands mean the Israelies ?
that's right Israelies and the British mandate on palestine which is the main reason of the whole problem

    YOU'RE WELCOME ANY TIME

    1) Is البقيت misspelled ? I couldn´t find such verb البقى . maybe it is اللي بقيت. Isn´t it ?

    2) What is the root of توديني ? Maybe أدّى ?

    Bye

    1) Is البقيت misspelled ? I couldnīt find such verb البقى . maybe it is اللي بقيت. Isnīt it ?
yes it's like you said it is التي بقيت in fos7a for sure

    2) What is the root of توديني ? Maybe أدّى ?
    in fact it's a non-fos7a word i can't find its root... i don't know i don't have dictionary to look for it...sorry
but still not fos7a one... it has the same meanig of تاخدني almost

Don't histate if you have something else... as i told it'll be my pleasure

    Here we go lol

    1) طاقة - Window ? I guess it means energy, power, force etc such as الطاقة النووية nuclear energy

    2) سال ( ask) - also means fill ?

    3) What exactly means ضلك ?

    4) is it also correct to say خبرهم شو صار instead of خبرهن عللي صاير ?

    3) What exactly means ضلك ? your shadow

خبرهن عللي صاير= tell them (girls) what's going on .

    Go ahead no problem

    1) طاقة - Window ? I guess it means energy, power, force etc such as الطاقة النووية nuclear energy
yes طاقة means energy and also could mean a hıgh small window.. they use it
in بلاد الشام ... look for it in طاق... i found it has another meaning is arch (but not
    in this lyrics)

    2) سال ( ask) - also means fill ?
no ask is سأل with hamza
but سال فعل ماض من كلمة يَسيل بالفتحة it means exactly leak, flow or to cause to flow..
but because of the meaning of the song it ment to fill
and becarefull يُسيل بالضمة has a different meaning (to liquefy)
    3) What exactly means ضلك ?
the fos7a for this word is ظلَّ وتعني بقي stay in its state it is من اخوات كان
and in fos7a its only ظل او ظلت

    4) is it also correct to say خبرهم شو صار instead of خبرهن عللي صاير ?
yes that's absolutely right and in fos7a أخبرهم عن الذي حصل but because ıt's
lebanese and in your accent it's right

I haven't seen you G. for such a long time... May be a whole month.

Any way I just knew that Fairoz was touring in Al Qds while a lady stopped her and told her, her story, Fairoz was affected by what the lady told her, so the lady decided to give her this vase to relieve her a little bit, and when went back to Lebanon, she told Asi El Rahbani, and then Al Quds El 3teeqah song was born.
