i asked onr syrian friend in skype for the translation of this song and he explain me
عيني يا عيني علينا as iits an interjection phrase ..an he told me t-hat we may translate it as

عيني يا عيني علينا = يا للعجب لما حدث لنا
= Whew!!..what happened to us

You have to understand that both translations you've posted are 100% correct, its quite difficult to translate it literally, we try to translate it in a way the meaning is not lost.

I think in terms of literal translation, this one is your best bet:

قسّوا علينا قلبهم وبكّوا دمع عينينا
they cruel their hearts for us and made our eyes cry (other translation)

In Louie's version he put: "have broke our hearts" when the line is actually saying that their hearts have become cruel to them

And figuratively/meaning wise Viva's is more accurate in terms of "and made our tears fall"

Because if it we break it down it's:

بكّوا - they made cry
tear - دمع
عينينا - Our eyes

So made our eyes cry and made our tears fall are fine, you can also say "made the tears in our eyes fall" It's fine as long as they're the same idea as what the song is trying to relay
