Abd El-Halim Hafez - Ana Kol Ma Gol El-Tobah [*]
Plz help me with ths song

Look, ya 3ain which he's repeating in every sentence is an expression means how much he's wondering
أنا كل ما اقول التوبه
When i say never
أنا كل ما قول التوبه يا بوي ترميني المقادير يا عين
I when i say never, oh my dad the fatalism throw me away
وحشاني عيونه السودة يابوي ومدوبني الحنين يا عين
I miss his black eyes, oh my dad and it melting because of longing
أنا كل ما اقول التوبه يا بوي ترميني المجادير يا عين
I when i say never, oh my dad the fatalism throw me away
وحشانى عيونه السودا ومدوبني الحنين يا عين
I miss his black eyes, oh my dad and it melting because of longing
متغرب والليالي يا بوي مش سايباني في حالي يا عين
I am in exile and the nights, oh my dad it doesn't leave me alone
والرمش اللي مجرحني يا بوي ضيعني وأنا كان مالي يا عين
and the eyelesh which hearting, oh my dad it made me lost and why it does that to me
يا رموش قتاله وجارحه يا بوي وعيون نيمانة وسارحة ياعين
an eyelesh which could kill and hearts, oh my dad and the eyes are sleeping
أديكي عمري بحاله يا بوي واديني انتي الفرحة ياعين
i give you my whole life, oh my dad, and you only give me the happiness
القلب الأخضراني يا بوي
the pure heart, oh my dad
دبلت فيه الأماني يا عين
i got wilt because of wishing
ولا قادر طول غيبتكوا يا بوي
and i can't bear your absence, oh my dad
يشرب من بحر تاني يا عين
it drinks from another sea

cause you know ,the word is plural and the plural of قدر is اقدار
so if it were 9adar then the transliteration would a9dar
plus magadeer=ingredients has no meaning...
ok we'll wait for an egyptian to correct

Hi jacaranda, Orwa & larosa
the word is:
[مقادير : maqaadiir] as you already mentioned.
if you look for it , you'll find out that one of the word meanings is:
"ما يقضي به اللهُ على العباد" = 'qadar : destiny', and its plural is [مقادير : maqaadiir].
as you know, in some dialects the letter ق : Q is pronounced as G and that's why it's [magaadiir].
-------------
أنا كل ما قول التوبه يا بوي ترميني المقادير يا عين
I when i say: repentance [means: i repent of loving], oh my dad, the destines throw me [to love again].
وحشاني عيونه السودة يابوي ومدوبني الحنين يا عين
I miss his black eyes, oh my dad, and I'm melting by the longing.
-------------
القلب الأخضراني يا بوي ... دبلت فيه الأماني يا عين
[and that] green/pure heart [means his own heart], oh my dad, ... [got] its wishes wilted.
ولا قادر طول غيبتكوا يا بوي ... يشرب من بحر تاني يا عين
and it can't, long/during your absence, ... drink from another water*
* in Egyptian colloquial, the word: بحر ba7r : lit. sea, is commonly used for water space whether it's sea or river] ... and it's kinda metaphor that he can't love anyone but his beloved.
hope it's helpful :$

excuse me dear el egipsio, thanks a lot for your explanation
i listened to the song again ,and it's magadeer
but the problem is i don't think that the plural of "qadar" is "maqadeer"
it's "aqdar" and not maqadeer,as i'm concerned
maqadeer is the plural of qadr=ingredient
and it's really a problem if he meant "qadar",cause it will be absurd for every one, even a native speaker
don't you agree???

Larosa, i think the word Magadeer is كلمة صعيدية, because the song has several words of Saidia's accent.., so i think even Egypci doesn't know what it mean, or i am mistaken?!?!?
El-Raisaaaaaa, Come and help us

you're welcome larosa ...
well, it's my wrong, cause i didn't explain it enough.

so, the word is: [magadeer/magadiir] which is originally [maqadiir] due to the fact that some dialects pronounce the Q as G - and it is the plural of: [ miqdaar/migdaar , dialect]

as i told you, if we look for the word in a lexicon we'll find that the word has many many meanings and one of the meanings is Destiny.
P.S
some of what lexicons have meantioned about the word miqdaar/maqadiir:
1. al 3ain lexicon:
المِقدارُ: اسم القدر، إذا بلغ العبد المِقدارَ مات
والأشياء مقادير أي لكل شيء مقدارٍ وأجلٍ
2. lisaan al 3arab:
قَدَرْتُ الشيءَ أَي: هيأْتُه، وقَدْرُ كل شيءٍ، و مِقْدارُه: مَبْلَغُه
المِقْدارُ: اسمُ القَدْر، إِذا بلغ العبدُ المِقْدارَ مات
ويقال: "إِنما الأَشياءُ مقاديرُ، لكل شيء مِقْدارٌ

Wow , such a hard song to translate Orwa , well done , sorry I did not notice your call for me
I have some notes for you , Saedi dialect is hard :
أنا كل ما اقول التوبه
When i say never (I will repent )
أنا كل ما قول التوبه يا بوي ترميني المقادير يا عين
I when i say never, oh my dad the fatalism throw me away Destitiny forces me to come back
وحشاني عيونه السودة يابوي ومدوبني الحنين يا عين
I miss his black eyes, oh my dad and it melting because of longing
أنا كل ما اقول التوبه يا بوي ترميني المجادير يا عين
I when i say never, oh my dad the fatalism throw me away
وحشانى عيونه السودا ومدوبني الحنين يا عين
I miss his black eyes, oh my dad and it melting because of longing
متغرب والليالي يا بوي مش سايباني في حالي يا عين
I am in exile and the nights, oh my dad it doesn't leave me alone
والرمش اللي مجرحني يا بوي ضيعني وأنا كان مالي يا عين
and the eyelesh which wounded me, oh my dad it made me lost and why it does that to me
يا رموش قتاله وجارحه يا بوي وعيون نيمانة وسارحة ياعين
an eyelesh which could kill and hearts, oh my dad and the eyes are seems sleepy , but he means it is atractive
أديكي عمري بحاله يا بوي واديني انتي الفرحة ياعين
i give you my whole life, oh my dad, and you only give me the happiness
القلب الأخضراني يا بوي
the pure heart green heart also means young heart like plants, oh my dad
دبلت فيه الأماني يا عين
It got wilt because of wishing
ولا قادر طول غيبتكوا يا بوي
oh my dad, and it can't bear during your absence,
يشرب من بحر تاني يا عين
to drinks from another river (sea is refered to river in wide parts in our dialect)
Finaly:
ya boya (my father) is an expression of feeling pain in Egyptian upper Egypt Dialect ..

I'm bumping this because this was a very useful thread.
Did you guys know this song is actually based on a saidi song sung by the child singer fairouz?
this is the reason for the saidi accent?
