Default Rap is more than Music

Every nation has national songs, but a race doesn’t have any. Rap is the precedent. How it is like that read here!

what do they C? rap='black' race

as for being a precedent, perhaps, but,

say "REGGAE" what do U C? I C a 'race' of Jamacians (or rastafarian's, which, I believe is a religion)

say "CAJUN", C what? I C New Orleans

say "ACID ROCK", I see 'white' boys

say "RHYTHM & BLUES", what do the million associate with the genre? no race?

show on the tube, hear Eminem...but it's a Hip-Hop show, now I associate M&M with being a 'white rapper', & associate Hip-Hop with dance.

My daughter, sez, that's 'cause RAP & HIP-HOP R considered the same thing now-a-days.

Whadda ya think?

Cool a little off topic?

SPIRITUAL? = "Negro music"

met a man, he said 'you know my cousin'
I said 'how did U know I like Bobby 'Blue' "
He said 'all white people like the blues'

umm...the majority of 'white' people I know don't know the man...and when I went 2 see Mr Bland (and 'brother Solomen Burke, y'all know him' name that oldie tune...among other's) I was one of the very, very few 'white' people in attendance.

Let's see, say SALSA, what race comes to mind? or MERANGIE? or simply 'ROCK & ROLL" (certainly don't think of the Italian race, or Alaskan race, or Asian race...)

I know a lot of 'black' people that can not stand RAP music, but like Jazz which is another genre that started as a musical expression of the black experience...

so, don't agree that rap is the first and only (precedent) genre to represent a race...even the race of American Indians, have music that's uniquely their own...

Angry Rap is more than music

Rap used to be more than music. Now rap is nothing but trash. all the so called "Artists" rap about is drugs, guns, cars, and hoes. tha beats is even becoming more garbage by the day. they're not even trying to be original anymore. as for saying it's more than music, Whatever. Tha **** that they calling "Rap" can't even be considered music. Rap has hit an all time low. As a matter of fact rap is dead. it's to the point where I hate to even turn on my radio and I refuse to purchase c.d.'s. rap is completely lacking lyrical content. Anyone can spit a nursery rhyme. To be honest people are getting away with murder right now getting paid for these bogus *** lyrics. I say this not because I'm hating but because I feel I can do better than this bullshit that's been slippin by. The game just aint been up to par. overall rap gets a thumbs down and deserves a slap on the wrist.

Rap is words being spoken fast, with a beat in the background.

Educate me on this "rap" shit. It seems pretty bad.

Oh, and New Orleans isn't a race. Just a big pile of debris.

I didn't say all rap was garbage. I rap. that would be contradicting myself. Rap is garbage in tha sense that TODAY all people rap about is tha same wack ****. However, I realize that rap can be sum cool **** if you hear tha right artists and lyrics. But sadly tha game is not up to par, and has not been up to par for a long time. that is why I say that rap is dead. It's more to life than shakin your *** in tha club and that seems to be what all tha hype is about in rap for tha last couple of years. Is tha game finally getting so tire that it has to recycle old ****??? I stand by my comment that rap is dead and will continue to stand by it until artists come with sumthing different.

Peace & love

Those new to it consider them to be one in the same, when in all actuality, Hip Hip is a culture comprised of four basic elements....Emcees, Graffiti Writers, B-Boys & B-Girls, and Deejays.

Under "Hip Hop" you have the Emcees who RAP, the Graff Writers who do Graffiti Art, the B-Boys & B-Girls who Break and the Deejays who Spin records.

That is the culture. That is how Hip Hop was originally set up by African Americans and Latinos and that is how it should be preserved.

Uh, wrong! Did you not read what I typed?

Hip Hop is the Culture, Rap is what an emcee does within the culture.

Therefore, Rap is just as "ancient" as Hip Hop.

for ur information rap is more than wordz to a beat if u listen to the right artist. if u want real rap listen to young jeezy, tupac, and the game,

plus new orleans aint a "race" or a "big pile of debris", its a a city most treasured to the u.s., many people lost their homes.... to sum up wut i mean New Orleans is part of u.s. and in the u.s. no state gets left behind ,thats why many people r helping to fix the damages(although not enough, thats not the point). READ AND LEARN MOTHA FUC*A!
