why does everyone say that they dont actually listen to the words but yet they know the words and sing (or rap) them?
i think the majority of songs are about love in one way or another because it is such a powerful emotion. when love it great, we are exuberant and write the mushy songs. when things get ill people write songs like *F*** You*

I think it is because love is one of the few things in the world everyone can relate to. Not everyone can know what it's like growing up in the 'hood, and not everyone can relate to songs about living in the country and farming for a living. Everyone, though, at one point in their life, will experience the irresistable desire to be irresistably desired that we call love. Not all of our experiences will be good, in fact, some of them may ruin us for life, but everyone knows what it is like to feel the bliss, hurt, happiness, betrayal, and inner peace that is love.
Not all songs are about love, alot of songs are about daily things, politics, political songs have alot more meaning than love songs I find. They can be controversial yes, but they provide a message shared by a population. Also, there are songs on violence, I suppose not everyone can relate to them, but the songs make you feel alive, depening on your personality, other people are disgusted by them.. as someone else mentioned songs that just go F U , is merely an example for bad song composition and lyrical writing.
We listen to music based on our preferences and moods. Depending on whether you like rock or rap, you listen to the heavier, harder stuff when you wanna get pumped and listen to the softer stuff when your trying to relax. If you're in love than you usually feel happier and more relaxed, thus you listen to upbeat music, but it can still change depemnding on you're attitude.
Not all songs are about love. Besides,not everyone takes music the same way. A song i may relate to love may be related to something else by other people. Love gives people a lot to write about, thats why so many people write about it, and the fact that many people like to listen to love songs makes artists write even more about it, but its not the only thing songs are about.
Music all over the world, everywhere you hear a new beat, a new voice. Some of them talk about happiness, some about Love. But why did I make this straight clasification ?
The Answer of course it's not good enough to describe them, the answer is just an idea, and I can bet many of us think the same.
They told us Love is the most beautiful feeling or thing that it might happend to us. But what they forgot to mention is the sacrifice of love and her disaster made. Love doesn't last forever, who believes in stories ? Love could lasted but we forgot to how to love, how to share everything we have. Aren't we selfish ? Aren't we always running to built a future, to make career ? Yes, well, that's nothing wrong; but in this way we forgot our principles, and they are the main "tool" that makes us "humans".
As far as I see from my experience, we know find our escape in music, some in work, some in other bad things. We search the "perfect person" but in our seek we forget that we're just dust in the wind, no perfection, no continuity.
Music may rise you up, music may kill you. You fell in love, and you become to send songs "look, hear this song, it's specially for you". You start to share your music (and the music you're listening to represents you entirely) and soon you identify your mood by listening a type. When you are sad you listenind sad love song love, who doesn't listen them ? But when you're happy ? How many of you listen a happy song ? No... Even when we're happy we tend to listen sad songs. But why ? It's our fear to not get lost without love ? To be left alone in an indifferent world ?
But... Why always Love ?
Because Love is not just a feeling, love doesn't stand in a kiss, in a touch, in a wonderful night. Love is more than this. Love has a true and solid friendship at her base; Love implies not only a body, all our mind, soul. Love is not a word written in a book. Love is built on speachless words and beats the life. Because even death cannot beat love. Love lives forever.
Love is like an endless song where some speachless words tell more than a kiss.
Without to see this, music makes part of our life more than another things that we believe them acting with.
