English Worship Song in Spanish translation

¡Saludos a Todos!
Acabo de registrar en este forum (despues de muchas fracasos porque no
pude leer la gráfica de seguridad bien). Ya he sacado las letras de muchos
cantos que quise usar y tengo que ofrecer un abrazo de MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS
a las hnas Coca y Sis P. y otros por su ayuda. Yo soy director de la música en
Español para una iglesia de tamaño mediano en Oklahoma con un grupo
chiquito de habla Español.
De veras no soy músico - Yo uso el famoso «Autoharp» y tengo
ayuda de un guitarista y un bajo eléctrico más mi hija como cantante. Aunque
soy puro Gringo (Tejano) uso el Español con algúna facilidad porque lo estudié
aquí en el colegio hace 50 años y tambien en la universidad, vivía en San
Antonio 2 años y en Panamá 22 años. (¡Que VIVA la Crossroads Bible Church!)
Empecé a ser gringo de nuevo a mi regreso aquí Junio de 1998.
Así pueden entender que necesito toda la ayuda que pueda conseguir.

Al momento estoy buscando la letra para una canción de Robin Mark - En Inglés
se llama «Days of Elijah». Podría proveer la letra en Inglés si ayudaría.

I have found a couple things that have REALLY helped me in getting the right/appropriate words in song (and sermon) translation, especially where the words are directly from, or paraphrased from scripture. One is a website, www.biblegateway.org which has literally hundreds of versions in dozens of languages, especially English and Spanish. The other is La Bíblia de las Américas (LBLA), translated by the Lockman Foundation and pretty much the equivalent of the New American Standard Bible. This version gives an appropriate amount of "archaism" as in King James or Reina-Valera and is probably the most literal Bible for word study. What I will do is find the words in scripture using a concordance (Strong's, etc) and then find the same passage in LBLA and I am often surprised how well they fit and sound. As always there are more syllables in Spanish than in English, so some editing is almost always required. And if LBLA words clearly won't fit there are several other Spanish versions in Bible Gateway that could also be used.

Are there any others out there that use an autoharp to lead worship?

I really don't know that song but I found it on a web site called higher Praise
I do agree alot of words do not go well with some of the songs so I try to change them the best I know how I work with some of my worship team here in Calif they are bilingual singers I do sing spanish I can read the word but some words I don't know the meaning and some I do I was raised in a bilingual church were they sang spanish and english and that's how I know some of the songs.

some of the request that are being requested here on this site if they are written in spanish somtimes I don't know what the request in I will guess or ask on this forum if there is any one that knows this songs or interpatations
but keep praying for me that the Lord will give me more understanding of the Language...

From a link on Bible Gateway I found another link to the Foundation Press which had another link to their bookstore. On this I found a really nice column-by-column NASB/LBLA Bible, leatherbound, on special for $30. The only thing about it that I don't LOVE is that it is fairly fine print. Gotta get some trifocal glasses! This is something that really helps me to come up with the "right" words rather than slang terms, and helps me maintain better familiarity with Spanish rather than lapse into Espanglés.

Here is a translation I did a few months back that I hope may be helpful to some of you. Sorry, I don't know the author's name but it is NOT the old-time hymn. I guess it is about 5 or 6 years old.

Interesting! That is a different "Great Divide" than I knew. The one I know is not a Christian song. Can you tell me who did it or the name of the CD, etc?
