Default Ca Me Vexe by Mademoiselle K (frence to english)

Could someone translate these lyrics?

Personne t'aime
ah ouais j'me disais bien
personne t'aime
ah ouais j'me disais bien

On m'appelle pas on m'invite pas
dans les soirées watchi watcha
je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
l'argent et le succés

et ca me vexe et ca me vexe....

J'ai chnagé plein d'fois d'messagerie

et ca me vexe...

J'veux qu'on me lèche sur la vitrine
j'veux qu'on me dise:"t'es bonne katerine!"
j'voudrais signer des autographes
qu'on m'adore même quand j'fais des gaffes
J'ai chnagé plein d'fois d'messagerie
alors pourquoi personne m'a dit "oui"?

On t'appellera bla bla bla bla si ca nous plaît ouais ouais c'est ca!
je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
le "money" et le succés
et ca me vexe...

Default watchi watcha

Hi,

seems a greate challenge to translate this one as it's full of slang and Populat idioms, but, here we go!

Personne t'aime
No one loves you,

ah ouais j'me disais bien
mmm, yeah 't was what I told myself
personne t'aime
ah ouais j'me disais bien

On m'appelle pas on m'invite pas
I'm never called, I'm never invited

dans les soirées watchi watcha
In the "witchi watch" parties
(witchi watch is a pure invention of the author that, in my opinion is a way to make fun of hype parties were French people speak English)

je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
I must not have the right smell

l'argent et le succés (succès)
money and fame

et ca me vexe et ca me vexe....
and it upsets me...

j'ai pris ma tenue de combat
I bore my fighting suit
With this you wont match

I payed anyway a bit much for a thang that let me in the hassle

J'ai chnagé (changé)plein d'fois d'messagerie
A changed a hell of a lot of time of messenger

mais personne m'a encore dit "oui"
and no one has told me "yes" yet

We'le call you back, don't worry if we like it, yeah yeah, that's it

je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
I must not smell the right way
l'argent et le succés
money and fame

et ca me vexe...

J'veux qu'on me lèche sur la vitrine
I want to be licked on the window (???)

j'veux qu'on me dise:"t'es bonne katerine!"
I want to be told " you're f**kable Katerine"

j'voudrais signer des autographes
I'd like to sign autographs

qu'on m'adore même quand j'fais des gaffes
To be adored even when I do boobs (blunders)

J'ai chnagé plein d'fois d'messagerie
I changed loads of time of messenger

alors pourquoi personne m'a dit "oui"?
So why no one has answered me "yes" yet

On t'appellera bla bla bla bla si ca nous plaît ouais ouais c'est ca!
We'll call you back, blah, blah, blah, if we enjoy it, yeah, yeah, dream on

je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
le "money" et le succés
et ca me vexe...
I must not smell...

I'm not called, I' not invited....
... in parties, then, too bad for you, ah ah ah

I did my best, theses lyrics were deliberately written with raw popular French and I assume that the translation in English doesn't really reflect the same "roughness" than the original work ;-)

hi nico
there were 2 faults, in this context SENTIR means TO FEEL

"je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
I must not have the right smell"
I think it should be
"I must not have the right FEELING"

"je dois pas sentir comme il faudrait
I must not smell the right way"
should be:
"I must not FEEL the right way"

Default Tricky French

Actually not, in this case, the verb SENTIR if no reflective (without pronoun before) means "to smell", to say "to feel" you'd have to put a reflective pronoun before, like "je dois pas ME sentir bien".

other example: je ME sens bien (= I fell good), // je (ne) sens pas bon parce que je ne me suis pas lavé (= I don't smell good because I haven't cleaned myself).

but, you can say : je sens que quelque chose va se passer (= I feel that something is going to happen)

Therfeore, in the song there can't be any confusion, she really thinks she stinks (in every way ;-))

Twisted language, no?, I'm so lucky I haven't had to learn it (lol)

I hope it'll help

what is the other mistake? you talked about two?

Regards

Nico

Witchi watch has to do with very exclusive and expensive watches. It is a machine that sets their time to the milli second. It is used with Bulova and Rolex watches. Though I am still unsure what she means

Default quoted from you

dans les soirées watchi watcha
In the "witchi watch" parties
(witchi watch is a pure invention of the author that, in my opinion is a way to make fun of hype parties were French people speak English)

it was in response to what you said and I was clarifying that it is NOT an invention of the author. It only posted i step out of context, I suppose your scroll is out of commission

In essence, Mme K is playing to the avant guarde as is her nemesis, Pauline Croze. They are both chasing shadows. And it is ooh, la, la, -so much fun!

I say 'Witchi-Watchi' parties literally means --synchronized--, as in "everyone there is playing the game."

Mademoiselle K has also recorded these fantastic tunes. I wish I knew where to find the lyrics to all of her stuff.

Plus le coeur a ca
Fringue par fringue
Le Cul Entre Deux Chaises
Peur du Noir
Ça sent l'été

etc.

Hey, this is the translation of the lyrics "Plus le coeur à ça"
I'm sorry, I'm French, so I understand very well the lyrics, but I may translate them in a wrong way (overall when it is a very popular French...)
Hope that the general meaning will be good!

Je voudrais arrêter là
I'd like to stop there
Me faire une raison
to accept it
Me dire enfin voilà
to think "finally, that's it
C'est fini
it's over"
Ce pont entre nous deux
this bridge between us
C'était beau et joyeux
it was beautiful and joyful
I have so much desire, but for the two of us
Bien sûr j'ai peur du vide
Of course I fear emptiness
D'être seule
loneliness
Dans les moments rudes
during the tough moments
Sans personne qui m'aime
without anybody to love me

Je t'aime encore parfois
I still love you sometimes
Mais j'ai plus le coeur à ça
But I don't feel like doing that

Je veux pas couper les ponts
I don't want to sever all links (to cut the bridges)
Juste m'en éloigner
just to go away from them (from the bridges)
Faut bien que les gens puissent
People must be able
Traverser
to cross
Et comme ça on pourrait
And since we could
Encore si tu veux bien se croiser
if you want, meet again
Bien sûr j'ai peur du vide
Of course I fear emptiness
D'être seule
loneliness
Dans les moments rudes
during the tough moments
Sans personne qui m'aime
without anybody to love me

Je t'aime encore parfois
I still love you sometimes
Mais j'ai plus le coeur à ça
But I don't feel like doing that

ah ah ah ah ah...

J'voudrais retrouver les mots
I'd like to find again the words
that gave you thrills in your back
A little sensual delight wouldn't be excessive
Thus we could act as if nothing had happened

you're welcome

Little add: I've forgotten to translate the last sentence of the song.
which means "but my heart has stopped beating"

PS. I've seen Pauline Croze in concert two years ago, it was great, she's fine, I love her song "T'es beau" (very FLEUR BLEUE)

Default Mme K vs Pauline Croze

Pauline is an angel. I love these videos! Everyone, please see them on YouTube!

It's like Paris is suddenly the Mecca of the Arts again, as her videos alone show us a Renaissance has occured, especially for the youth. And Paris, as y'all know, is one place well worth further emotional investment, unlike New York. (post 9/11)

This group of people, each passing along a kiss, --possibly the most clever device I've ever seen in a home movie. But, the really telling video is her playing 'Jour' LIVE on the set of Paris CH4 TV! And, the best one of course is her own version * Jour de foule, *-where the shadows get up and start walking around the set! Very clever indeed.
