Well,

due to the fact that sometimes (oops, maybe many times ) i flooded this thread with Laura's songs
and due to the fact that this forum is so addictive like no other forum i ever encountered
and due to the fact that i met the most nice persons here than i ever did in other forums
and due to the fact that i'm gonna be absent (good for you ) for some days

I'd like to re-post one video and explain the story behind this

It was 2001 when i bought by chance my first CD of Laura Pausini.. it was the album: "E ritorno da te". A collection of some of her best songs (up to then)...

To be honest, i was wandering around the CD store when i saw her CD. I didn't even know her as an artist. I was "magnetized" by the cover of the CD and the fact that she was Italian... I thought: "well maybe it's good...Italian music is not bad..."

If you check the songs of that CD (those who like Laura) you will notice that almost every song in it is just fine...a hit...

I listened to that CD many many times...It was magical to my ears although i had no clue about the lyrics of her songs...But the Italian language sounds so "musical" to my "Greek" ears, so i didn't bother more...

I had a "gap" about listening to the music for some years after (about 4-5 years). I'm wondering with myself how did that happened...
Anyway...

When i "woke up" again and started pressing the power switch of my stereo, Laura's CD was still one of my choices among many other songs and artists (mostly Pop and Rock, U.S. and U.K. scene, but not limited to that...) but not very frequent... And i never bought another CD of her...up to then...

February 2011, when i joined this site, and when some other events happened, i rediscovered her CD through my collection and started again to listen to her...Then i thought: "wth, this lady must have more albums released for sure..."

I began "youtube" search along with "google" search to listen to other albums of her and decide what i'd buy ...

I ended up to the video that follows... After that the "storm" began... Now... i have all of her CDs (except one i think...) and all her concert DVDs.

You'd ask what impressed me so much about her as an artist, i know...

Well i'll give some hints (Paul Orhan, i hope he is well, already got 'em...when i first posted Laura's videos)...

Watch her face expression when she sings
Watch the easiness that her great voice comes out of her mouth with...
Watch her movements on the stage, her passion, her joy...

I really watched many live concerts and many DVD concerts of many artists (and even more live Greek artists singing on the stage)
but i rarely found that "something" that Laura Pausini has when she sings (on the stage at least...)

I sense that she is "real" to what she does... She "feels" it and she "transmits" it...

Well, i'm sure there are more artists than her, whom i didn't discover yet, but...She is one of them...

All of her concerts (those that i watched) are really FULL of crowd... I never had a talk with an Italian person about her popularity in Italy but i guess that she has some... Well she is not so popular to Greece due to the fact that Greek people in general don't learn (and they don't have to) Italian language...They are mostly speak English as their foreign language (latest generations at least)...so Italian songs sound good but unfamiliar to their ears....

Me? i'm one of the many Greek exceptions wanting to learn to speak everything so...

LOOOOONG story short,

The weird thing about this video is that although it's supposed to be from her concert in Paris (2005) it doesn't appear in that concert DVD...

There is a name which appears at most of her concerts ... the name is Medley . I tried to find information about that name but i couldn't find... The fact is that those 4 songs are titled as "Medley" songs... (has to do with the orchestration? i don't know...internet doesn't help much)...

dear safe the meaning of medley is :

a composition of different songs or parts of songs arranged to run as a continuous whole..
or
a musical composition consisting of a series of songs or other musical pieces from various sources

and there is a lot more definitions to the same word
but in general its a mixing

So singers do medleys when the songs are long or when they want to sing
more than one song all together
they do medleys without cuts-in between
like skipping from a song to the next
