    DEAR PAUL,

    I wanted to share something you once posted on our thread, about 'MUSIC FOR YOUR MOOD.' I had made a dedication of Israeli singers to bateli. Later, you responded to that post on the thread (See below). Your response made me feel so good! So much so that once in a while go back to read it, just to lift my spirits! You only say such things when you truly mean it. And this is what made me feel like a million dollars!

    Thank you, Paul . . . and my love and well wishes to you always . . .

    Shalom Miss Frankie

    I finally found some time to listen to this unexpected and surprising selection from you and I'm truly impressed by what you found!

    Of the presented videos I'd like to point out he following:

    Nomination for "Best Male Dish In A Video" award guaranteed! And what a beautiful song so ... French in style and composition! Magnifique! Merci, Madame!

    Thank you Bateli and Mavii for this great idea. You two were behind it and it was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen in my life.

    Mavii, your work was perfect and I can't imagine how Pawel was thrilled when he saw it. He must have been enchanted by the beautiful colours and designs you used. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

    Bateli, you've made it for us. Your heartfelt struggles, your kind spirit, your good vibes and YOU YOURSELF have made it. It's no surprise that Bogda likes you, everyone does. Your friendship with Bogda has made it possible for every one of us to know about Pawel's situation. The key point is that you didn't know her, and after the incident you two became friends. It's wonderful. If we hadn't had you, we would have been very stressful due to lack of information regarding Pawel.

    Frankie, I adore you so much. Your support, your care and your sincere words always warm my heart and every people's heart, I suppose. Whenever I was sad and agitated, I just read your posts and pms and they made me relaxed and calm.

    Steve, your prayers have been with us all this time and they gave us hope and happiness. I'm sure that they had reached Pawel and had made him hopeful when he was struggling with his illness.

    Tahira, I think your posts on this thread say it all. You're a caring friend and I'm so happy for Pawel when I see that there are so many people here who care about him. Thank you Tahira.

    Zahra, you're so sweet. Your message for Pawel on get well card gives me so much hope for the future. I hope we can see a day when there is only peace and happiness in this world.

    Thank you for sharing it with us dear Frankie. It's magnificent and filled with joy and happiness.

    I want to talk about the word Hoca, because it's very sweet in that message.

    Hoca is a Turkish word that means master/teacher literally, but there is a big story behind it. To make it short, it is a title that has been used in order to greatly respect someone throughout history. When someone is endeared and respected so much, they use this word. It's no surprise that Pawel called you by that title. It means a lot.

    Oh, Bijan! I didn't know that! Perhaps Paul thought I did because I had tried so hard to learn Turkish (my love of BARIS AKARSU and YALANCI YARIM!!). I learned some words and phrases . . . and I could mostly follow YALANCI YARIM (and indeed, learned some Turkish from there!) because of the fantastic acting. Also, my Turkish friends helped if I was very confused by Y.Y. But "knowing" Turkish?? Yok. No, I never got even close.

    What you have written makes Paul's post to me even more precious. Thank you so much . . .

    P.S. I was a little worried, because tonight was the first time I noticed the "name" (word!) 'hocam.' It did not look particularly "Turkish." And in English, this is what "hokum" means:

    [noncount] informal -

    (1) chiefly US: foolish or untrue words or ideas :nonsense
    ▪ Everyone knows his story is pure hokum.

    (2) writing, music, etc., that is too dramatic or sentimental and not very original
    ▪ His new film is yet another piece of Hollywood hokum

    Default Pawel, A Special "Arts Gift Package" For You . . .

    Dear Paul,

    I have put together a little "Arts Gift Package" for you! Below you will find four aspects of the arts, carefully chosen for your pleasure! I hope you enjoy it. Don't feel you have to see it all at once--just pick out one. Come back later and watch another when you feel like it! I've added some descriptions. Represented are the arts of:

    * Film (concept art)

    * Dance

    * Musical instrument (piano)

    * Singing.

    The last three art forms are performed by amateurs, some of whom have never even been on a stage before! All three are contenders in the "America's Got Talent 2011 - New York Auditions." So these videos are SNAP BOOGIE and LANDAU'S first experience ever on the stage!

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _

    LOVELY PC WALLPAPER ART – “ALICE IN WONDERLAND WITH FLOWER FACES” – CONCEPT ART FOR TIM BURTON FILM

    - - - - -

    SNAP BOOGIE, AGE 18 – "AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 2011, NEW YORK AUDITION"

    DANCER - “SNAP BOOGIE,” “SNAP,” “SNAP TO,” (his ‘street name’); real name - Cjaiilon Andrade – has helped support his single mother by street dancing for many years. He lives in a poor area of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In the neighborhood, many of his friends have succumbed to street crime and quite a few of them are imprisoned--his older brother has followed that path. But SNAP has chosen a better way of life! What an admirable young man!

    - - - - -

    ELEW, AGE 38 – "AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 2011, NEW YORK AUDITIONS"

    ELEW began playing piano at age 2. He attained classical training. After decades of classical piano, he felt too disconnected from modern times and modern music. So, he developed his own piano style combining (what he calls) “the guitar-playing of Jimi Hendrix and Beethoven classical piano” with modern music.

    Amazingly, he commands the piano with the strength of Beethoven--pounding out a pop song [cloaked in classical modern consonance-dissonance harmony], and combining piano techniques resulting in a whirlwind of 88 keys, Hendrix “strings,” and unusual percussion rhythms.

    - - - - -

    LANDAU EUGENE MURPHY, JR., AGE 36 – "AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 2011 – NEW YORK AUDITIONS"

    LANDAU, from Logan, West Virginia, USA, has had no vocal or stage training. For the past 10 years, he has been washing and “detailing” cars. NEVER has he ever auditioned for ANYTHING. This apparently was his first time in front of an audience. You will be surprised.

    ENJOY, PAUL !!!

    _ _ _ _ _ _

    HARIR: And you are sweet to say those things--thank you! You guys make me feel so good! And you give me a lot to live up to!

    Dear Frankie ,
    I can explain it in this way: Hocam --> Hoca + m = my Hoca

    And here is the wikipedia entry for this magnificent word:

    "Hodja, also spelled as Hoca, Khoja, Xoja, or (in Albanian) Hoxha, is a title of respect in some Central Asian and Middle Eastern cultures."

    and in SlovoEd Deluxe Turkish-English dictionary, it has been defined as:
    "teacher, master, magician, enchanter"

    Pawelam this is for you.
    i've been missing you more than words to say and i've been thinking about you every day

    Pawel this clip is not so lovely and is not romantic.i imagine a cherry tree when i listen to this.he sings about a tree of their love.if i were some one who makes this clip i would use a cherry tree and sunshine in a garden.
    but when you were not here with me and i was waiting for you i listened to this and i love the lyrics so much.

    You may be happy to learn that Hokum originated from Hebrew.
    Chacham - wise (single male adj)
    Chachma - wisdom
    and now we go to a more familiar sound....
    a person who pretends to be chacham --Mit'chakem (single male adj)
    and the act of pretending to be chacham - Hit'chak'mout

    We use theses words in everyday Hebrew.
    I can see why it was found in Arabic since both languages are Semitic.
    I first read about Hokum originally coming from Hebrew in the book of
    Thomas Cathcart and Daniel Klein - Plato and a Platypus Walk into a bar
    I had so much fun refreshing my knowledge about philosophy through Jewish jokes (the premise and reason this book was so successful)
    that I bought their second book
    Heidegger and a Hippo Walk through those pearly gates (heaven)
    Another interesting thing I learned is that the term Metaphysics started simply because the issues discussed there
    were placed AFTER the chapter of physics ....
