About Turks

Hello friends! Especially Greek friends! I wanna ask something to you that I wonder about for a very long time. I am Turkish and very keen on Greece. Culture,foods,language,MUSIC,people.Namely everything interested with Greece.. You are very lucky to have these beutiful specialities.In fact,we are the same,too but you are more lovely.. But, what is this this problem between us? I mean political problems.And,some videos are represented against each others between Turk-Greek.I dont wanna see these problems..Me and people who think like me want to nearer with all of you.
Anyway; topic has become longer. Just I am curious about what you think about Turkey. I have some friends from Greece,I heard some good things. But I want to hear these by people who don't know me as personals and wanna know better.

there is no problem from Turk's side,everyone knows we like thier language and like the country..and althoug we say 'we dont like greek 'its because they say they dont like us...if a greek comes to our home,we never say 'go away'
but i think its a political thing..and i really dont wanna talk about plitics in a great site like this

Hello.. Absolutely we love each others,Just we wanna to be nearer.When I say that I wanna learn Greek in Turkey,some people looks me bad.In the same thing,ıt is a big possibility to hear something interesting by them.
Of course I never want to talk politic topics here.Just I am curious about what they think.And also It is certain that I love the Greeks more than nearly everybody.So,the person does not want to talk here,he/she may not talk.Does not matter my fellow countrymen.

There is no problem from my side too. Well, the truth is that the Greeks are prejudiced with the Turks, but I don't think that we must judge them for this. They have their own reasons and I think that you know them well. But I hope that one day all the Greeks will realize that you are our good and friendly neighbours! I really love you all and I wish you the best. Alp is right, don't talk about this. We are all friends here.

hey, this is a very touchy issue for me! because I like greece and greek, but there are prejudgements of people against each other both in turkey and greece. but I don't care, because all the problems are political I think, people have no problem. we're neighbours and siblings! forget about politic, it was in the past, let's look at today and the future and try to live in peace

Hey I Love Turkey Too.but Some Greeks Think That Turkeys Are Very Offensive Towards Them.that's Because In Both Side There Are Racist Who Insult The Opposite.and Some Greeks Go Back 200 Years When We Were Under Turkeys Orders.but It Is Stupid Because Before That Great Alexander Had Done The Same.and I Could Also Say That Lots Of Greeks Are Scared Because Turkey Is A Much Bigger Country And Stronger.they Think That A War Can Be Taken Place In The Future.that Is Why Greece Spends A Great Percent Of The National Money In Army.i Cannot Understand Why Politicians Don't Agree On A Capitulation Of Peace.anyway All This Situation Is Silly.

I agree. the past was in the past. we should look at our today relations. we're close to each other, we're neighbours, we have many things in common. there is no reason to fight, to insult each other. we should help each other. politics isn't everything. there sth that's said to be "humanity", we're humans first, before being a turk of greek or anything. People should think in this way I think but all the people don't think like me or you. we give peaceful messages here, it would be good if they were taken by the people who are racist.

Greeks hate turks becoz they are thinking that we hate them..also Turks hate greeks becoz we are thinking that they hate us..and there is nothing for youth to know each others and countries..we dont know you..just think your hate to us..and maybe it is same fo greeks too...we are being together just in matches(football,basketball etc)..and maybe it is the wrongest way to meet eachother.

I think you're totally right. I believe also that army and school fanaticize people. Thank God the last years the books in school are more impartial, but they must try harder. Do you believe that my brother has a t-shirt from army which says more or less "A Turk is good only if he's dead"? With these kind of believes we'll never manage to progress our country! It's so awful and a shame... I really wanna burn this t-shirt!

But Now,I read the topic again,and I recognised that this is a wrong place to write all of this.I have thought this just now.When I opened this topic at the first time,I was new this forum and didnt know how to use it(namely the index,what can be spoken except music). the worst word in our historical books against Greeks was ''enemy''..and it was distracted from books many years before..
btw l cant believe this word >> "A Turk is good only if he's dead". l hope they are not majority in your country..

Well, our books don't say bad things about you, but they were sentimental. Now are more impartial. I think that i have never seen the word enemy in our books, but you can never be sure about these things.

So about this phrase, few people say it and they believe that it's true. The majority of people think like me and they criticize it. Firstly it's inhuman and it's unacceptable to say something like that. They say it a lot in army, in addition my brother was in Cyprus and there things are worse.

whatever ..i am friend for people who are human..but who think bad things are nothing for me..they can think what they want..i know what l am and l know my country..l am sure you are too....l cant judge the people who hate us..it is their choice and problem..they can think whatever they want..i dont care..so let everybody do what they want as long as they dont damage to materials,feelings

well,i have no words &have plenty of words to say too...we are not politicans,presidents,or anyhting.. u can just do whatever u want,it really doesnt matter to the others,wear shirts or underwears,burn the flags,sing songs against to each other,have meetings,swear,ignore.. so what?! u can just do it by yourself..use bad words about Greek or Turk.. u'll just prepare ur end with blood ...and the worst ..the children will be the victims..innocent people... for nothing! for the bad things happend yeaaaaaarss ago... everyone had fights,wars..past is past.. we shouldnt make the 'countinous' PAST

If a greek person thinks good things about my country, it really makes me happy but if she/he thinks bad things, i answer badly too. i don't have problem with greeks, i like them. Turks and Greeks lived together long years and they have similarities. i think these two nations mustn't be deceived political problems...

I hope that to. Peace is what Greece wants, we don’t like war, we’re sick of them! Turkey is a great country with nice people and I think that my compatriots will understand it one day. They don’t hate you, but they don’t love you either! Let’s give them some time…and you’ll see.

Alp, don’t beat me! I don’t say these things. Some of my compatriots who have complex and they are miserable. Only miserable people can thing like that. I agree that past is past and I look forward and the other Greeks too, cause they have their own problems, but there are some others (minority) who cause problems. I think that in Turkey there are these people too. Unfortunately there are everywhere…

Then I’ll make you happy cause I really love Turkey! I loved her from the very first moment. My friends agree with me too. The case I said was the exception cause few people think like that these days. Do you know something? In our news there are news from Turkey too, not only about politics and these stuff, but they show places in Izmir, Çesme, Istunbul etc. or tv shows. I like it. Btw who are you?
