Maybe Russia is not a democratic country, but this doesn't change the language. We are talking about languages here!
Yeah, Romanian girls are among the most beautiful girls of the world. Many Romanian girls live here.
Bottom line, we have different points of view. That's not going to change. But I respect your opinion as long as you don't offence me and my preferances. Ok? Is it so bad to like Italian or Russian? Maybe I don't like Romanian. Who knows. But I will never tell you that the language is awful. Every language is beautiful, and if I don't know much about it, I can't express my negative opinion.
Ciao! (with Italian accent of course and maaaany interjections)

1- Spanish (has sweet pronunciation, beautiful language, beautiful songs)
2- Greek (again nice pronunciation and nice music)
3- Ottoman Turkish (very poetical and artistic...)
4- British English (I don't know why I like it, but I don't like the pronunciation of American English)
5- German (at first I didn't like it but as far as I tried to learn, I started to like)

And of course I love my mother tongue Turkish but I didn't know where to put it like citlalli. I don't know how it sounds from outside? I think the pronunciation of languages impress me when I decide which language I like

Yeah, I totally agree with you Luke of Metal, but British English is so difficult to unerstand. When British people speak it's like having a cloud in their mouth. Not to mention the fact that they can't understand us when we speak English. So frusrtating! I like American more. Sounds really nice. Sorry

1. British English (I'm a sucker for English dialects.)
2. Swedish (just nice )
3. Latin (really helpful & still present all around us)
4. Icelandic (a very beautiful & melodic language)
5. Dutch (no real need to learn it, the Dutch are multilingual)
6. German (unambiguous & no nonsense)
7. Basque (need to learn this so bad)

How the hell is English a "cheap language" when from it was spawned many plays, book, pieces of poetry...

Keats, Shakespere, Dickens, Wordsworth all wrote in English and they're taught in schools (or should be if they're decent enough).

Just because people use curse words, it doesn't mean that's the entire population or the entire vocabulary of the language. A few idiots on TV is not a full country's population.

If you compare it to other languages you can conclude that things in other languages sound nicer, more poetic and stuff.
You don't have to be a Shakespere to express something beautiful in another language but in English you need to be one :P.
People just don't speak to one an other in that way, only poets do.
At least that's what I think.. but it doesn't mean that i'm (or the ones who say that English is a cheap language) correct.
If you look at it, this is only a matter of taste and doesn't need to be discussed about ;-).

Well, to be honest it does as I'm English and it's insulting that someone who has no understanding of England can call my language "cheap"

For the record, you don't have to be "a shakespere" to speak English well, just educated enough to have learnt manners and respect for other.

A simple "hello" for a greeting and "please" and "thankyou" is all it takes to be nice and Shakespere didn't write these.

What really grinds my gears is the way people from other countries see English people at a football match being arrested for violence and say "all english are like this" - WE'RE NOT, those aren't even footbal fans, they're idiot chavs who get drunk and go just to hit people because they have no brains and no capacity for manners.

The English Language is superb when it's used correctly and those idiots who are English and speak like they're in a bad rap record "yo, iz my 'ouse... innit bruv" are not a true representitive of my country.

Sorry for the rant but it had to be said and no, I'm not argumentitive or angry, just erudite.
