Sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen

Thank you for translation
I've always wondered one thing: Can the german words "Du hast mich" be taken also as "You hate me". I mean , can it be that Rammstein wrote those words with purpose like that? Can it be that Rammstein deliberately picked the words like that, and it can be understood in two different ways: Du hast mich = you have=you hate me ?
I know the differense between "Du ha st mich" and "Du ha ßt mich",
i just wonder, what you think, can it be "play of words"?
Maybe Tahira (or other German people) can say this to me?

Hi Lollipop,
if Rammstein wanted to say HATE he maust have written "du haßt" or "du hasst".
I found the german translation somewhere in the www and I am not sure, if I got one which is written without mistakes. But the whole lycis make sence wiht the sentence "you have asked me". I guess I found the right lyrics.
Actually I do not know the songs of Rammstein. I think they have quite hard and heavy rock music.
Have a nice day, Tahira

Yeah, if I only had the original cd of Rammstein! I read in internet that on original cd the lyrics are written: "du haßt", but i don't believe any of it, before i see the cd and lyrics with my own eyes. Oh well, next time, I'm in cd-store, I'll try to ask for this at the desk
Thank you Tahira, for your information

Hi Lollipop,
yOU ARE RIGHT! They are playing with word, watch this: YouTube - Rammstein - Du Hast (English)
SO better translation is:
you
you HATE
you HATE me
you HAVE asked me, and I didnt....... and so on
That´s right they are playing with words.
I was so curios now about this song, that I´ve been searching it on youtube. The english and german version.
Regards Tahira

Yes, Till intended a play on words. As I know it to be, the lyrics are written "du hast" but he meant it to have two meanings. He does it a lot with his lyrics and he actually does it at another point in the song with "Willst du bis zum Tod, der scheide"--> "until the death of the vagina" and not "until death, which would seperate" which would be "Tod, der scheide".
It's all explained very nicely on this web seite: Rammstein Lyrics and Translations | Herzeleid.com | The number one source for Rammstein
Very good translation and explanation. I hope this was helpfull.
