Default Gottlieb Wendehals - Polonase Blankenese

hey all :P A friend of mine sent me that song and it's funny ... can somebody translate me the song pls .... thanks in advance

Gottlieb Wendehals - Polonase Blankenese
1 Die Kellner hamm jetzt Pause,

wir rollen das Buffet von hinten auf;

die Post geht ab, wir mach’n jetzt ’ne Sause;

Hier geht was los, da bleibt kein Auge trocken,

Klaus-Dieter, setz’n Halben ab:

JETZT KOMMT’S!

Schulter,

das hebt die Stimmung,

ja da kommt Freude auf.

(Los, Oma: hak ein!)

2 Das Orchester auf der Bahne packt der Wahnsinn;

der Pianist reiat alle Tasten ’raus;

die Tuba blast den Trommler, das tut weh, weh;

die Banke fliegen tief, die Tische auch;

was danach kommt, ist uns jetzt ganz schnurz.

Schulter,

das hebt die Stimmung,

ja da kommt Freude auf.

(Los, Oma: hak ein

1 Die Kellner hamm jetzt Pause,
The waiters have a break now
wir rollen das Buffet von hinten auf;
We’ll take the buffet from behind
die Post geht ab, wir mach’n jetzt ’ne Sause;
There’s moving all around, we’ll have a party now
The beer runs free, THE WALL is shaking
Los, Vater kommt in die Sock’n,
Come on, father comes into the socks
und Mutter schlurft in ihre roten Pamps.
And mother scuffs in her red pumps
Hier geht was los, da bleibt kein Auge trocken,
There’s something going here, no eye will stay dry
Klaus-Dieter, setz’n Halben ab:
*
JETZT KOMMT’S!
Now it’s coming

Here the holes will fly out of the cheese soon (meaning that it’s a real big party)
denn nun geht sie los, uns’re Polonase
Because now it starts, our polonaise
von Blankenese bis hinter Wuppertal.
From Blankenese to Wuppertal
Wir ziehen los mit ganz groaen Schritten,
We get going with big paces
und Erwin faat de Heidi
And Erwin touches Heidi
von hinten an die … Schulter,
From behind on.... the shoulder
das hebt die Stimmung,
That raises the spirit
ja da kommt Freude auf.
Yes, then joy arises
(Los, Oma: hak ein!)
Come on, grandma, link your arms (with the polonaise)

Das Orchester auf der Bahne packt der Wahnsinn;
The orchestra on the dais is grabed by madness
der Pianist reiat alle Tasten ’raus;
The pianist tears all keys out
die Tuba blast den Trommler, das tut weh, weh;
The tuba blasts the drummer, that hurts
The maestro cries „one“ and screams: „light out!“
Unten tobt das Volk bereits im Laufschritt,
Down below the people already bluster in at a quick pace
die Banke fliegen tief, die Tische auch;
The seats are flying low, the tables too
der Wirt schmeiat sich schatzend
The host moves smacking
aber’m Aufschnitt; das Chaos tobt —
but with the beat (?) **, the chaos rages
WIR AUCH!
We too
Der ganze Saal soll heute abend brodeln,
The whole room should seethe tonight
It’s alright, boys, the night is far too short
Until tomorrow morning Elke should be yodeling here
was danach kommt, ist uns jetzt ganz schnurz.
At the moment we don’t care for what happens afterwards

* HELP
** I know what Aufschnitt means.. but I don't have an idea how to translate the term without losing the meaning (oh.. umm.. by the way.. IS there a meaning? )

I would translate this line: Klaus-Dieter, setz’n Halben ab this way: "Klaus-Dieter put down their liter of beer". What do you think Steena?

And about that: Aufschnitt i don't know if there IS a meaning, really!

Yes Layla, the idea with Klaus-Dieter seems ok I guess that's what they mean

Aufschnitt in general is a form of meat, but I don't think that's what they want to express here...

Hi Steena, possibly AUFSCHNITT is right. I guess the meaning is:

der Wirt/Gastgeber schmeißt sich schmatzend über´n Aufschnitt.

english meaning: the host is eating his cold buffet in a smacking way.....

Tahira
