"Love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."
in greeklish:
Mou les pos den aisthanesai
to idio san prota
mou les sygnomi, hairetas
kai kleineis tin porta
ki ego ena ereipio sosto
ena monaha tha sou po
Ehei o kairos gyrismata
Dyo opseis ehoun ola ta nomizmata
Den tha 'mai ego, tha 'nai i zoi
Pou tha ragysei tin kardia sou sa gyali
Etsi akrivos opos mou to 'kanes ki esy
Min kaneis, se parakalo
Pos dithen se noiazei
Egine tora to kako
Kai auto den t'allazei
Eho pnigei sto dakry mou
Ma, ennoia sou, agapi mou
As usual, a great song from Δέσποινα. Here it is:
θα ήταν κάποιος παρακαλώ μεταφράσει αυτό το τραγούδι στα αγγλικά?
Gott zur Ehr, dem nächsten zur Wehr
What if they gave a fire and nobody came.
And in english to please!
i like this song a lot!i've seen this req for a few days, but i thought that TheSerbianhoney will do it so that's why it took me so long
Μου λες πως δεν αισθάνεσαι
το ίδιο, σαν πρώτα
μου λες "συγνώμη", χαιρετάς
και κλείνεις την πόρτα
κι εγώ ένα ερείπιο σωστό
ένα μονάχα θα σου πω..
you tell me that you don't feel
the same, like at the beginning
you tell me "i'm sorry", goodbye
and close the door
and i, a complete wreck
i will only tell you one thing
Έχει ο καιρός γυρίσματα
δυο όψεις έχουν όλα τα νομίσματα
δε θα 'μαι εγώ, θα 'ναι η ζωή
που θα ραγίσει την καρδιά σου σα γυαλί
έτσι ακριβώς όπως μου το 'κανες κι εσύ
Time turns things, upside down
all the coins have 2 sides
it won't be me, it will be life
who will break your heart like glass
exactly like what you did to me
Μην κάνεις, σε παρακαλώ
πως δήθεν σε νοιάζει
έγινε τώρα το κακό
κι αυτό δεν τ' αλλάζει
έχω πνιγεί στο δάκρυ μου
μα, έννοια σου, αγάπη μου
please don't try
to look as you really care
the bad thing happened
and this doesn't change
i've drown in my tears
but beware, my love
Έχει ο καιρός γυρίσματα
δυο όψεις έχουν όλα τα νομίσματα
δε θα 'μαι εγώ, θα 'ναι η ζωή
που θα ραγίσει την καρδιά σου σα γυαλί
έτσι ακριβώς όπως μου το 'κανες κι εσύ
Time turns things, upside down
all the coins have 2 sides
it won't be me, it will be life
who will break your heart like glass
exactly like what you did to me

The fact is, I forgot to do itI thought I posted it earlier, with the lyrics
however, thank you kmmy for your translation, you translated some phrases better than I did
when I do this translations, I realize how poor English language actually is, compared to our Balkan languages... there are so many things that you just can't translate in the way that would keep their actual meaning...
It's ok![]()
Really? I've been through that as well... I feel somewhat frustrated when I can't translate it in english as I would like to while in romanian I can use the exact same expression or words![]()
Gott zur Ehr, dem nächsten zur Wehr
What if they gave a fire and nobody came.
"Μην κάνεις, σε παρακαλώ
πως δήθεν σε νοιάζει"
or the refrain
"Έχει ο καιρός γυρίσματα"...
I don' know about Romanian, but in Serbian, we have exactly the same phrases, and a lot of other things are similar, so it's lot easier to translate from Greek to Serbian... Okay, this song it's not so hard to translate, but I can get really frustrated, like Kmmy said, when I get the meaning of the word or the phrase, but I just can't find the right way to express it in English...![]()
"Έχει ο καιρός γυρίσματα" I was thinking "Time goes on"![]()
Ρεμπέτικο για πάντα. Μάγκες είμαστε.
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
I love the lyrics... They are so meaningfull... but the glass metaphore...not very creative, Phoebus used it in an Elli Kokkinou song too![]()
Всичко е лъжа, заблуда и лъжа, заблуда, всичко е лъжа...
