Default Themis Adamantidis -- site with lyrics from him

Could you point me to a site that has lyrics in English (or in Greek, I shall give it a go) of Themis Adamantidis songs?

Thanks in anticipation of any reply.

PS: Is there a search function embedded somewhere here on the forum? Sorry, I am new here and I am getting used to the various bits and bobs.

this is one link but the songs are in Greek

stixoi.info: Θ*μης Αδαμαντίδης (Ερμηνευτής) **

I will search a little bit more if I will find something in English, but I don't think so

For the search engine you asked, roll down/up the page you are now into and you will see in the upper part " Forum| Quick links | Members|...|Search "
in the bottom of the page you will find "Lyrics | Lyrics search| Music directory |... | Search"

I wish I could get you a pint for both the site and the bottom search link I would not have seen without your help. Might need some help with translation though...

Default I cannot identify it!

Thank you azim,

I would, but I cannot find it! All I have heard is the song in which the phrase "gyre sto plai moy" is repeated. I have no idea about the title, so it is very difficult to locate the lyrics. I think I need an identification expert. The other I can tell you is that the melody sounds familiar. I don't know where I have heard it, but I swear I have heard it before in a non Greek version. I am listening again just in case I can write more words down (or their latin approximations). I am positive it is Themis Adamantidis because a Greek person ID him a couple of weeks ago.

As for the "assistance" bit, thanks again. I think I have made very clear what kind of assistance I need!

Default Interesting!

I am also on the case. It sounds familiar. Yeah, yeah, I have heard it. Give me two to three minutes my dear and I shall crack it.

Default Got it!!! Bingo!!!!

You were VERY right!!!

It is called Η μουσική = the music. And you have heard it before from Matt Monro (in the UK actually ). "The music played" ??? Da, da, da, da ,da, dahhhh, da, da,da,dahhhh . I think?

Γείρε στο πλάι μου
Turn to my side
Και μη μιλάς
and do not talk
Λόγια που χάνονταi
words that (can be lost)
Μη μου ζητάς
do not ask from me

Τα παίρνει ο άνεμος
the wind takes them (the words)
Σε μια στιγμή
in a moment

Σαν φύλλα πέφτουνε
like the leaves fall down
Τ'άλλο πρωί
the next morning

Γείρε στο πλάι μου
turn to my side

Και μη μιλάς
and do not talk

Η νύχτα πού΄ρχεται
that night that comes
Είναι για μας
is for us

Ασε καλύτερα να σου το πει
You better let to say to you

Στην άγια γλώσσας της
η μουσική
in its holy language the music

Γείρε στο πλάι μου
turn to my side
Στης νύχτας τη σιωπή
in the night's silence

Κι ας γίνουν όλα μουσική
and let everything become music

Γείρε στο πλάι μου
turn to my side
Ο χρόνος να διαβεί
so that the time can pass

Κι ας μείνουμε
and let's stay

εγώ κι εσύ
you and me

Μαζί
Together

Happy now?

Default You are amazing!

Oh my God! You are amazing. Thanks ever so much! I have been trying to do this for weeks now and it had been bugging me! The parallel with the "music played" is even more amazing. You must have a very good memory and ear for music.

Thank you, thank you, thank you quarkie (hugs and kisses) !
