Χορός με τη σκιά μου


Το βράδυ σπίτι μου γυρίζω
κυνηγημένη σαν πουλί,
μες στα σεντόνια μου αντικρίζω
το θάνατο που με καλεί.

Κρύβω στα χέρια την καρδιά
παίρνω απ΄ τις πόρτες τα κλειδιά,
και προσπαθώ να του ξεφύγω
κρυφά σαν τα μικρά παιδιά.

Κυλώ σα δάκρυ στη σιωπή,
μέσα στου κόσμου τη ντροπή,
και σαν τα ρούχα μου ξεσκίζω
γυμνή μ΄ αρπάζει η αστραπή.

Στους δρόμους σύντροφο γυρεύω
μια μπάντα παίζει το ρυθμό,
σκίζω τους τοίχους και χορεύω
να βρω τον άγνωστο αριθμό.

Κοιτάω μ΄ελπίδα μια φωτιά
που ανάβει έν΄άστρο στο νοτιά,
άραγε νά 'ναι 'κει το φως μου,
το φως ή η ατέλειωτη ερημιά.

Φοβάμαι του όχλου τη χολή
ένας τυφώνας με καλεί,
η αγάπη χάνεται στη μνήμη
κι εγώ χορεύω σαν τρελή.

I "conceal" (with)in (the) "hands", the "heart"
παίρνω απ΄τις πόρτες τα κλειδιά

I "remove" from the "doors", the "keys"
και προσπαθώ να του ξεφύγω
/ ke prospatho na tou xefigo
and I "strive" to "escape" (death)
κρυφά σαν τα μικρά παιδιά

"hidden", like "little children" (do)

Κυλώ σα δάκρυ στη σιωπή

I "flow" (downwards) like (a) "teardrop", in the "silence"
μέσα στου κόσμου τη ντροπή

within the "world's" "shame"
και σαν τα ρούχα μου ξεσκίζω

and while my clothes I "tear to shreds"
γυμνή μ' αρπάζει η αστραπή

"bare", the "lightning" "grabs" (hold of) me

Στους δρόμους σύντροφο γυρεύω
/ stous dromous sintrofo yirevo
in the streets, (a) "companion" I "seek"
μια μπάντα παίζει το ρυθμό
/ mia mpanta pezi to rithmo
a "band" is "playing" the "rhythm"
σκίζω τους τοίχους και χορεύω
/ skizo tous tihous ke horevo
I "tear" (down) the "walls" and I "dance"
να βρω τον άγνωστο αριθμό

to "find" the "unknown number"

Κοιτάω μ΄ελπίδα μια φωτιά

I "gaze" with "hope", a "fire"
που ανάβει έν΄άστρο στο νοτιά

that a "star" "lights up" in the "south"
άραγε νά 'ναι 'κει το φως μου

Is it "possible" that my "light" is "there" ?

Φοβάμαι του όχλου τη χολή

I am "freightened" of the "swarm's" "bile"

a "hurricane" is "calling" me
