You're very welcome..And yes I agree, Eleni Vitali is such an amazing woman..Μ'αρέσει πολύ αυτή η γυναίκα..I remember someone in the forum using an expression like "cut my veins" type songs ..Could it be you by any chance?? If so ( or doesn't matter if not ) , I should tell you Vitali is one of the women who makes me feel like doing so (!) whenever she starts singing songs like "αν μ'αγαπούσες λίγο" or "έρωτα μου αγιάτρευτε"..But she's also the one who makes me jump onto the stage να χορέψω με "μούσταφα" and "τι τα θέλεις τα λεφτά".. I'm not familiar with her son though..

Tzina, I need to ask you a question at this point..I need some enlightenment about that..I guess what you mean by "folk" is "dimotika", right? Those waves in Greek music, like rembetiko, laika, elafrolaiko, dimotika, entexno really confuse me..I'm pretty clear about rembetiko I guess, although some time ago you had told me that some song I thought was a rembetiko was in fact an elafrolaiko..So, I would really apreciate if you just briefed me a little about the difference, with examples if you don't mind!!..Because I'm well aware of the definitions of all these but I don't know on what basis I should differentiate between them..For instance what particular songs of Vitali are considered as dimotika? or elafrolaiko? or what is entexno in the first place??? Would you be kind enough to illuminate my confused mind?? Ευχαριστώ πολύ...

Dimotika is of the type Kalamatiano for example the whole cd "Τα δημοτικά της Ελένης Βιτάλη" ,every region has its own songs(the sounds of Creta with the lira are folk == dimotika). Elafrolaiko is in a way the evolution of rembetiko (you can say for example that the songs from the latest cd of Terzis are elafrolaiko). Laiko are songs like the ones in the cd "Χορέψτε γιατί χανόμαστε" or the song "Ανοίχτε τα τρελλάδικα".Entexno would be the song "Πάμε για άλλες πολιτείες"
For the exact differentiation I have to look, so that I can be exact.

Tzina..thank you so much…now I can see a little bit of light at the end of the cave!! Unfortunately I don’t have "Τα δημοτικά της Ελένης Βιτάλης” but based on your explanation I may “dare” conclude that “Σιγά την άμαξα” or “Καναρίνι μου γλυκό” might be dimotika??? And probably the very song at the top of the page will be a laiko I guess?…And "Πάμε για άλλες πολιτείες" sounds nothing like greek to me, I mean traditionally greek!! So it seems that what you call entexno lacks the traditional, ethnic tones of greek music?..But I won’t be able to examplify that as I’m not into that type of music. Coming to elafrolaiko..I always thought Terzis was a singer of laika…So elafrolaiko remains as a question mark in my mind again but anyway, I’ll figure it out.. It’s probably something I like hearing though!..And as a conclusion, σ’ευχαριστώ για την εξήγηση σου..

Well, I do appreciate your faith in Women Power!!
Someone had told me once that there’s nothing more frightening than a woman who has made up her mind!! Doesn’t matter to do what! No matter how long it takes! They just do it! The song above....sort of raises my self-awareness…of my will…Ζήτω όλες οι γυναίκες!!
