/ To vouno
The mountain
/ th' anevo ke tha tragoudiso
I will ascend (climb) and I will sing
/ sto pio psilotero vouno
on the most highest mountain
/ n' akouyete stin erimia
to be heard in (the) wilderness
/ o ponos mou me tin penia
my "ache" (pain), by the "pen" *
/ me to vouno tha yino filos
with the mountain, I will become (a) friend
/ ke me ta pefka sintrofia
and with the pine-trees (as) company
/ ki otan tha kleo ke pono
and when I will be crying and aching
/ th' anastenazi to vouno
(it) will be "sighing", the mountain
/ apano sto vouno tha mino
(over) on the mountain, I will stay
/ ki apo ton kosmo makria
and from the world, far away
/ tha kleo monos, tha pono
I will (be) crying alone, I will ache
/ ke tha m' akoui to vouno
and (it) will (be) listening (to) me, the mountain
