Μια φορά κι έναν καιρό... many years from now, I asked my husband (he wasn't my husband back then) what a song was all about. He replied: "How would I know, re mwro?". I was shocked and said: "Plaka mou kaneis! But that's Greek!". Then he replied: "That, agapi mou, is Ancient Greek. I'm not" lol
Stubborn as I am, I told him I'd find out myself. That was the crucial moment when I decided to get involved with Classical languages.

Hehe! Greeks cannot understand completely ancient Greek. They catch some words, but most of the times they cannot get the meaning. I'm not proud for saying that!

Btw, I'm really impressed with you sweety. You're not Greek (I consider you as a Greek, of course! ), but you know more things about modern and ancient Greek from the real Greeks. You're so smart and you really wanna learn. I like it! Обичам те...

Sorry for the late reply but this week I am working afternoon and night shifts and it was hard for me to write a big message.

My friend panselinos I don't need Liakopoulos. Most of the things he says I know almost 10 years before him. (You have to read some Ioannis Passas and Theothoros Aksiotis books )

I don't want to argue with you. Just when it comes to this question, I prefer and lean on the balanced, unprejudiced knowledge of languages.
You cannot possess such a knowledge. Neither can I (I admit it), though I try. And I'm not even Greek.

Yeah, and Tsatsomoiros, right? :р What makes you think I haven't read these? Just because their point of view doesn't concur with mine, doesn't mean I completely ignore them. On the contrary. Besides, it's great fun.

Hehe, I've read such materials about many cultures and many languages. Actually, I deal with them every day. Some are frankly absurd, but many of them sound more or less well grounded. Yet they all make me smile, because none of them is completely true. Guess why. =)

Anyway, I'd be glad to share opinions with you via email.
