Default Sotiria Bellou translations

Hello!
I would really like to know the translations of these songs, all coming from the cd prin to xarama from Sotiria Bellou, since it's actually the only real Greek cd we have in house, yesyes shame on me
I really searched a lot for translations before posting it here but i only found song 1 and 7 translated :/
I hope someone can translate what I posted here, I would be really happy with that!
And sorry it's not all in Greek letters, but i don't have a greek fond on my computer so the lyrics i didn't found on the internet i had to typ, and that couldn't be in those greek letters, hope it's understandable like this though.

2. Prodothika (Sapio sanidi patisa)

Den kratisa den kratisa
Sti zali parapatisa
Sapio sanidi patisa
Gi’auto kai parastratisa
Zalisthka zalisthka
Mia nichta parasurthika
Pws den to sullogistika
Kai se gkremo gremistika
Thampothika thampothika
Mia nichta paradothika
Se mian agaph dothika
Agapisa prodothika

3. I Mikri Tou Kamilieri

4. Exoun kardia kai oi ftoxoi

'Ase thn poza mou kratas
papse to chrima na koitas
na ksereis mes sta ftochadakia
briskeis agapes kai merakia
ase tin poza mou kratas
exoun kardia kai oi ftoxoi
kai dose ligi prosoxi
mes sta trimmena ta sakakia
tha breis ta pio kala paidakia
exoun kardia kai oi ftwxoi
kapote tharthei i stigmi
na nioseis thelontas kai mi
pos eimai ego gia sena fos mou
to xrusafi olou tou kosmou
kapote tharthei ki i stigmi

6. Mpoxoris

Άιντε του καημένου του Μποχώρη
άιντε του τη σκάσαν στο βαπόρι
άιντε και του πήραν πεντακόσια
άιντε όλο ταληρα και γρόσια

Άιντε το 'να μήλο τ' άλλο ρόιδο
άιντε του τη σκάσαν σαν κορόιδο
άιντε το 'να μήλο τ' άλλο ταχλαδι
άιντε του τη σκάσαν ενα βραδυ

I know it's quite much, but i'd be really grateful already if you'd only translate one song! Well thanks in advance!

3. I Mikri Tou Kamilieri
the little girl of the camel-driver

Η μικρή του καμηλιέρη αραπίνα από τ' Αλγέρι
the little girl of the camel-driver, dark-skinned from Alger
όποιος να τη δει τη θέλει γιαλελέλι
whoever sees her, he wants her, yialeleli*

Τραγουδούν οι αραπάδες και χορεύει στους οντάδες
the dark-skinned men sing and she dances in the houses**
το κορμί λυγάει σα χέλι γιαλελέλι
she bends her body like an eel, yialeleli

Στο χορό κρατάει το ντέφι και παντού σκορπάει κέφι
in the dance she holds the tambourine and she scatters happiness everywhere
η ματιά της στάζει μέλι γιαλελέλι
her glance drips honey, yialeleli

Φορτωμένη με στολίδια σκουλαρίκια δαχτυλίδια
she wears lots of jewels, earrings, rings
η καρδούλα μου τη θέλει γιαλελέλι
my heart wants her, yialeleli

Η καρδούλα μου τη θέλει γιαλελέλι
my heart wants her, yialeleli

*I have no idea about the meaning of this word. It’s not greek
**I had no idea about this word too, but my mother said me that it’s some kind of house, room, hall or something like that. It’s a Turkish word.

Γιαλέλι (Gialeli) in arab means tonight (a Syrian told me that)
Οντάς (plural in Greek becomes οντάδες), is as your mum told you Maria, it's a Turkish house

Wow! I'd never thought someone from Netherlands would be interested in Sotiria Bellou's songs! Anyway, here's what they mean, although, I have to warn you, that you won't make much sense from some of those lyrics, even when translated:

2. Prodothika (Sapio sanidi patisa)
I was betrayed (I stepped onto a rotten plank)

Den kratisa den kratisa
I didn't hold on, I didn't hold on
Sti zali parapatisa
I stumbeled in my dizziness
Sapio sanidi patisa
I stepped onto a rotten planck
Gi’auto kai parastratisa
That's why I went astray
Zalisthka zalisthka
I got dizzy, I got dizzy
Mia nichta parasurthika
One night I got carried away
Pws den to sullogistika
How didn't I consider it?
Kai se gkremo gremistika
And I fell off a chasm
Thampothika thampothika
I got dazzled, I got dazzled
Mia nichta paradothika
I surrendred one night
Se mian agaph dothika
I gave myself in one love
Agapisa prodothika
I loved, I got betrayed

3. I Mikri Tou Kamilieri
The little girl of the camel-driver

Η μικρή του καμηλιέρη αραπίνα από τ' Αλγέρι
The little girl of the camel-driver is a negro from Algeri
όποιος να τη δει τη θέλει γιαλελέλι Δις
whoever sees her wants her, yaleleli (it's an exclamation)

Τραγουδούν οι αραπάδες και χορεύει στους οντάδες
The negros sing and she dances at the bedrooms
το κορμί λυγάει σα χέλι γιαλελέλι Δις
she bends her body like an eel yaleleli

Στο χορό κρατάει το ντέφι και παντού σκορπάει κέφι
At the dance, she holds the tambourine and spreads cheerfulness everywhere
η ματιά της στάζει μέλι γιαλελέλι Δις
her look is sweet as honey

Φορτωμένη με στολίδια σκουλαρίκια δαχτυλίδια
Loaded with jeweleries, earrings, rings
η καρδούλα μου τη θέλει γιαλελέλι Δις
my heart wants her, yaleleli

Η καρδούλα μου τη θέλει γιαλελέλι
My heart wants her yaleleli

4. Exoun kardia kai oi ftoxoi
Poor people have a heart, too

'Ase thn poza mou kratas
Let go the attitude
papse to chrima na koitas
stop caring about money
na ksereis mes sta ftochadakia
you should know, among poor people
briskeis agapes kai merakia
you find loves and high spirits
ase tin poza mou kratas
let go the attitude
exoun kardia kai oi ftoxoi
poor people have a heart, too
kai dose ligi prosoxi
and pay some attention
mes sta trimmena ta sakakia
among the worn-out jackets
tha breis ta pio kala paidakia
you'll find the nicest guys
exoun kardia kai oi ftwxoi
poor people have a heart, too
kapote tharthei i stigmi
some day the time will come
na nioseis thelontas kai mi
that you'll feel, want it or not,
pos eimai ego gia sena fos mou
that I am for you, my darling
to xrusafi olou tou kosmou
the gold of the whole world
kapote tharthei ki i stigmi
some day the time will come

5. Το δικό σου το μαράζι
My heartache for you

Το δικό σου το μαράζι θα με φάει
My heartache for you will destroy me
Πάει χαμένη η ζωή μου τώρα πάει
My life is gone now
Και με δίχως να ντραπώ,
And, without me being ashamed
δώσε βάση τι θα πω
pay attention to want I'm going to say
Να ‘χεις χάρη μάγκα που σε αγαπώ
You're lucky, man, that I love you

Από σένα στη ζωή μου υποφέρω
I suffer in my life because of you
Θα γεράσω πριν την ώρα μου το ξέρω
I'll grow old before my time, I know
Κι αν το θύμα είμαι εγώ
And even if the victim is me
κι όλα σου τα συγχωρώ
I forgive you for everything
Να χεις χάρη μάγκα που σε αγαπώ
Your lucky, man, that I love you

Κάθε μέρα με το σπίτι μου μαλώνω
Every day I fight with my family
Τα δικά σου τα σπασμένα τα πληρώνω
I pay for your mistakes
Κι αν στα χέρια σου εγώ
And if I by your side
τόσα βάσανα τραβώ
go through so much trouble
Να 'χεις χάρη μάγκα που σε αγαπώ
You're lucky, man, that I love you

6. Mpoxoris
Bohoris

Άιντε του καημένου του Μποχώρη
Ayde (exclamation) poor Bohoris
άιντε του τη σκάσαν στο βαπόρι
ayde, was fooled on the ship
άιντε και του πήραν πεντακόσια

The literal meaning of those phrases is clear! They just don't make any sense in the song, as they're used only for rhyming purposes.

Wow O.o You all have been enthousiastic I see!! 7 replies and some songs even two times translated! Really, thanks a lot!
And to Tsopana: well i guess it's just a coincidence, i bought the cd in some store in Olympia this year and some were (I was with a group) looking for Greek cd's and this cd was playing there, so some bought it, and then the owner said it was rebetika (i had made an essay about that) so i thought i must have it, and i bought that same cd as well, and i like it. But since i havent heard the name before i guess it could have been another singer as well And actually I think the lyrics do make sense! (although some things i don't understand because of my english)
But a question because im interested: Is she a really popular singer then there? And is what she sings real rebetika?

I'm sorry to post some more songs (unless you like to translate it, then i'm pleased ), but i promise: after this, no more songs in this thread!
And really thanks again for what you did already!

Kanenas de mou eftaikse
Nobody is responsible
Stis maures sumfores mou
For my black disasters
Ta anoixta ta xeria mou
My opened hands
Ki oi kakokefalies mou
And my stubbornness
To ksero mou to kefali
My dry head*
Me efere s’auto to xali
Brought me in this plight
As imouna ligo sfixti
I wish I was little bit thrifty
Deili na ta kratousa
Coward to keep them
Ti ftoxeia na xairetaga
To say goodbye to the poverty
Mpoemika na zousa
To live like a bohemian
Tora mou fugan ta lefta
Now my money have gone
Mourthe o nous ki h gnwsi
My mind and my knowledge have come
Ma einai pia polu arga
But it’s too late
Ki as toxw metaniwsei
And even if I have regret

*Means again stubbornness

Monogramma did some corrections, so i'm gonna translate them in english.

She says that: The right is "..fere mas kapela krasi.."
In these songs (Rebetika), the publican or the "kapelas" are mentioned in many songs. The publican, is the owner of the tavern and the "kapelas", is the one who serves the wine.

So, fere mas kipela krasi----->Bring to us cups of wine is wrong.
The right is: fere mas kapela krasi----->kapela, bring to us wine

Ok, here she says: Vlamis, vlamissa
The word comes from the albanian vlam, which means mate (partner), but with the pass of the years it obtained bad meaning (=bully)

Sorry for the mistakes!

Default Sotiria Bellou/ Vasili Tsitsani

Fascinated to read this thread. I have another song which I really like which I was wondering if anyone could help with - only problem is I don't have the lyrics to write down so it's a big ask! The song is "xorisame ena deilino" which with my basic greek and a dictionary I think means "separation one afternoon " or something like that? Does anyone happen to know this song?
It has some beautiful sounding words and the singing is great.."Ta omorfa ta vradia..." (beautiful evenings?) ..."glik'ayylika" (sweet english?angel?)

I was grateful to see above the translation of eimai apopse sta merakia which is another of my favourites from the same CD anthology as the Bellou?Tsitsani song "Diamanita tou Rembetikou no. 2" THere is no more info on the CD itself.

Thanks

Clive

I'll do it pretty/awfully literally

Χωρίσαμε ένα δειλινό we separated an afternoon
με δάκρυα στα μάτια with tears on our eyes
η αγάπη μας ήταν γραφτό our love - it was written
να γίνει δυο κομμάτια to be broken in (two) pieces

Πονώ σαν συλλογίζομαι I suffer and think back
τα όμορφα τα βράδια the beautiful nights we had
που μου ‘δινες γλυκά γλυκά when you gave me sweetly sweetly
όρκους φιλιά και χάδια promises, kisses and caresses

Με μια λαχτάρα καρτερώ I wait with impatience
και πόνο στην καρδιά μου and pain in my heart
ίσως γυρίσεις γρήγορα maybe you come soon
ξανά στην αγκαλιά μου again to my arms
