Default sotiria bellou "xorisame ena deilino"

    Sotiria Bellou/ Vasili Tsitsani

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fascinated to read recent sotiria bellou thread- I have now transferred this message in its own right. The thread prompted me to read all sorts of interesting stuff about Greek rembetika and laika which I hadn't properly understood the difference about before...

I have another song which I really like which I was wondering if anyone could help with - only problem is I don't have the lyrics to write down so it's a big ask! The song is "xorisame ena deilino" which with my basic greek and a dictionary I think means "separation one afternoon " or something like that? Does anyone happen to know this song?
It has some beautiful sounding words and the singing is great.."Ta omorfa ta vradia..." (beautiful evenings?) ..."glik'ayylika" (sweet english?angel?)

I was grateful to see above the translation of eimai apopse sta merakia which is another of my favourites from the same CD anthology as the Bellou/Tsitsani song. It's called "Diamanita tou Rembetikou no. 2" There is no more info on the CD itself. I suppose it is on one of Bellou's albums.

    Many thanks

    Clive

    We parted one evening

We parted one evening with tears in our eyes
Our love was destined to break in two

It grieves me to recall the beautiful evenings
When you gave me so sweet promises, kisses and caresses

I am waiting with longing and pain in my heart
Perhaps you will come back soon to my arms again
