Im looking forward to reading your translations, my darling!! And keep listening to Greek music, also read greek news on websites like tanea.gr etc. That will help you learn the grammer better!! Do you know what? there is a greek-language tuition podcast, it is free, you can download it and listen on the go!! So even when you dont have much time to study Greek, you can always learn a thing or two whilst doing your daily run:-)

αντέχω means to withstand. In English we have many words that have the same meaning as 'withstand' words such as 'bear, stand, tolerate, etc.' for example I cant stand you, i cant bear loneliness etc. 'αντέχω' is the greek word that can be used to describe all these english words meaning 'to bear'.

I was talking to fiance today about the same thing!! When Greeks speak 90% of the time they express things very differently than how we would in English, so when literally translated some things dont make much sense!! Like for instance in greek 'you have right' means 'you're right' but when you say 'you have right' in english it means you have a right to do something!! So its a little dodgy to translate Greek to English and vice versa..
Thats why i used the word 'tardy' which gives the 'sluggish' meaning rather than late in this sentence because in english it would probably be expressed like that!! What matters is that you understand what the song means in Serbian, and you do your best to make others understand these wonderful songs too!!

yes, I know..
I don't know english perfect, but I know it for normal conversation..biggest problem for me grammar, actually tenses (no metter how easy is english grammar), because I never learnt english from books, but from movies, internet and similar things..
anyway..I have one greek-serbian and three greek-english dictionaries..so every time I search for some word, I have a serbian and english translation..that's why I have doubts about meaning of some words..
anyway,I don't give up, I am very persistent, so I am sure I will speak greek one day well

Im Turkish, but I have learned Greek because my fiance is Greek and not everyone in his family speaks English!! I learned it to make my future mother-in-law like me haha good tactic ey?
