Possibly Pasxalis Terzis song? Help please!

Hi guys

Could you please identify a song?

I was able to understand and translate only a few words: vrexi, grapho s'agapo.

It was probably performed by Pasxalis Terzis because on the tape record there were some other songs performed by him: o dikos mou o dromos and dose mou mia eukairia.

I was not comfortable translating the text because English is my second language, and I know only a few Greek words and common phrases. Please do not laugh...

The city of grayness


Βρέχει, πάλι βρέχει, πάλι κόντρα μου πάει ο καιρός
Rains, rains a lot, again I am going against time,
μα θα περιμένω κι ό,τι γίνει
But I will wait for the outcome.

Γράφω "σ’ αγαπώ" στις στάλες της βροχής
I am writing “I love you” on the drop of rain,
κι ελπίζω να βραχείς κι απάνω σου να μείνει
Having a weak hope that it will fall on you.

Γκρίζα πόλη, γκρίζα φώτα, μάτια φθινοπωρινά
The city of grayness, gray light, through the eyes of the autumn
ας ερχόσουνα για λίγο κι ας χανόσουνα μετά
Everything become little and was lost afterwards.

I've read through your translation and it's really good!!! Well done!!!

There's no reason for me to laugh at you, of course.. and I speak only a little Greek as well, so I'm absolutely not in the postion to laugh at anybody else who doesn't speak the language

I'm not sure about some lines, but I've done my best with correcting... I'm at work now, but when I'm at home I'll have a look at it again using my dicitionary, or maybe someone else will correct it in the meantime!

Very good try from both of you. There is only one thing I would like to suggest.
Where it says

"ας ερχόσουνα για λίγο κι ας χανόσουνα μετά"

It would be better to translate as:

"If only you came for a little while, and vanished afterwards"

No other corrections from you? What about "πάλι κόντρα μου πάει ο καιρός - weather is going against me again"? Is it okay like this? I thought about it for some time, but I didn't manage to find a better translation....

My english isn't perfect, but I think that you translated it correctly.
