Oh my... They have made Φραγκοσυριανή?! Έλεος!

This is one of them classic rebetika songs. It was written and originally sung by Markos Vamvakaris in the early 40's.
Grigoris Bithikotsis used to sing it too in the late 50's, but.. well, he was the Sir of the Greek music.

A piece of explanation before the translation. In the Byzantine years Syros constituted part of the Aegean Dominion, together with the rest of the Cycladic islands. After the overthrow of the Byzantium by the Venetians and Franks in 1204, Syros came under Venetian domination and was included in the Ducat of the Aegean. Meanwhile, Ano Syros was founded. During the Latin period, the majority of the local community were Roman Catholics, but maintained the Greek language.
Because of the Venetian domination from the Middle Ages onwards, the islanders were once exclusively Roman Catholic.
So... Frankosiriani is a Catholic woman from Syros (franko+syriani).

Frankosyriani
Markos Vamvakaris

I have a fire, a flame in my heart
As if you did magic on me, sweet Frankosyriani

I'll come to meet you again at the shore
I want to enjoy your kisses and hugs

I'm going to take you to all places - Finika, Parakopi
Galisa and Delagratsia, even if the strike hits me

We will have a good time in Pateli, Niohori and in Alithini
And we'll have a romance in Biskopio, my sweet Frankosyriani

_____

All the places mentioned above are in Syros.

And the translation is more or less free, so you can get the meaning.
