Thumbs up I love this song!

Great choice!

Papeles mojados

maria, let me correct you some sentences of the song that are not written correctly.. hope you dont mind!

euxaristw poly for the greek part.

I would like to add too, that this is NOT a Elena's song, its from Chambao and Elena made a remix of it, adding greek parts..

Only spanish lyrics? OK here it is

Papeles mojados / Wet papers

They drown their sorrows with a candle, put yourself at their place
The fear that their eyes reflect, the sea started to cry.

Muchos no llegan, se hunden sus sueños / Many (people) don’t arrive, their dreams sink
Papeles mojados, papeles sin dueño / Wet papers, papers without owner
Muchos no llegan, se hunden sus sueños / Many (people) don’t arrive, their dreams sink
Papeles mojados, papeles sin dueño / Wet papers, papers without owner

Frágiles recuerdos a la deriva desgarran el alma / Fragil memories at the shipwreck tear the soul
Calao hasta los huesos el agua lo arrastra sin esperanza / Wet till the bone, the water drags them without hope
La impotencia en su garganta con sabor a sal / Impotence in their throat with salty flavour
Una bocaná de aire les daba otra oportunidad / A breath of air gives them another chance

Tanta injusticia me desespera, ponte tú en su lugar / So much injustice despairs me, put yourself at their place

Ahogan sus penas con una candela
They drown their sorrows with a bonfire
ponte tu en su lugar
Put yourself in their place
el miedo que sus ojos reflejan
The fear that their eyes reflect
la mar se echó a llorar.
The sea began to cry

Muchos no llegan
Many don't get *
se hunden sus sueños
Their dreams sink.
papeles mojados, papeles sin dueños.
Wet papers, papers without owners

Frágiles recuerdos a la deriva
Fragile memories to drift
desgarran el alma
Tear the soul up
calaos hasta los huesos,
even their bones are wet and cold
el agua los arrastra sin esperanza
the water (sea) drags them hopeless
la impotencia en sus gargantas
Powerlessness in their throats
con sabor a sal
flavored salt
una bocaná de aire
A deep breath of air
les daba otra oportunidad.
Gives them another chance.

Tanta injusticia me desespera
So much injustice exasperates me/annoys me
ponte tu en su lugar
Put yourself in their place
el miedo que sus ojos reflejan.
The fear that their eyes reflect
la mar se echó a llorar.
The sea began to cry

* When i say "they dont get" it means to their destination. As it's well known, this song goes to the afrikaan people that after crossing the desert, thousand and thousant miles, they go to the top of Africa to take an illegal and poor boat to get to Spain, looking for a good and better life.. Either crossing straight from Morroco to the South part of Spain, or in worse cases (and more usually), the boats go to Canarias Islands.. a very dangerous journey in the dark, and storms in the sea.. most of them die while in the journey, and the ones that get to the Islands (mostly with hipotermia) are returned to their country again..
