And the hard-core funs of Olympiakos called you Bulgarians not the rest of us. It depends after all on who you are talking with. I have no problem with the northern people.

Κι εγώ είμαι Αθηναία! Τουλάχιστον αυτό γράφει η ταυτότητά μου. Δε μου αρέσει καθόλου η Αθήνα γιατί έχω κακές αναμνήσεις από κάποια άτομα κι αυτό μου βγάνει κάποιες φορές για όλους τους Αθηναίους, σόρρυ! Ξεχνάω ότι κι εγώ είμαι τυπικά μια από εσάς... Εγώ γελάω με τα Κρυπριακά, αλλά επειδή μ' αρέσουν και τα βρίσκω διασκεδαστικά. Μακάρι να καταφέρω να τα μάθω! Εμείς πάλι στην Μακεδονία γελάμε με τους Λαρισαίους, τους έχεις ακούσει να μιλάνε;

Λάρσα, Λάρσα σ'είδα και λαχτάρσα?? This kind of sweet talk??? You never heard Trikalinous then (they cut vowels, endings, they talk with ni and li and whenever there is an o they pronounce it ou)

Yes you're right. We pronounce it mb, Lambros. In contrary, the word μπαμπάς we pronounce it babas. I think that I said something about that in the Greek Grammar thread...

the dictionary is half right but the word you refferred is λαμπρός, not the name Λάμπρος .
The name has to do with Easter (Sunday of Easter), in Greek we call the Sunday of Easter(Πάσχα) and also Lampri(Λαμπρή), and that's where the name comes.
Lampri is the day that is grand, glorious

Ο Λάμπρος ήταν μάρτυρας της Εκκλησίας μας και βγαίνει από το λαμπρός με αναβιβασμό του τόνου.
