Default [2/5 SOLVED] 5 pop songs with few clues, part B

Nobody IDed anything from my Part A thread, though I didn't expect them to. Here are 5 more songs I'd like to identify in a part B of that extended thread, if somebody happens to recognize them, though these song IDs are also low priority to me, so please don't knock yourself out over them.

    (1) "I don't want to fight" [IDENTIFIED]

    female singer
lyrics I wrote down: "I don't want to fight", "fairy tales", "talk about it", "ba ba ba-ba"

    (2) "gonna find"

    female singer
lyrics I wrote down: "gonna find", "the everlasting", "I'm giving ?up", "someone else", "I think I'm", "on my ?feet", "even if", "if only for a moment"

Both of (1) and (2) above were played at a Burgerville in Washington state in 2009. Other songs I identified from that same restaurant that same day were the following, to give you an idea of the type of songs they played:

    So Sublime (Beth Rowley, 2008)
Walk Through the World (Marc Cohn, 1992)
    She Is Love (Parachute, 2009)
No One Is to Blame (Howard Jones, 1985)
One Step At A Time (Jordin Sparks, 2008)
On and On (Stephen Bishop, 1977)
Momma’s Boy (Elizabeth & The Catapult, 2009, "Taller Children" album)
Energy Spent (Liam Finn, 2007, "I'll Be Lightning" album)
I Came Around (Amie Miriello, 2008)
The River of Dreams (Billy Joel, 1993)
    I Don't Know (Lisa Hannigan, 2009)
    She Says (Howie Day, 2003)
    Africa (Toto, 1982)
    Shine On (The Kooks, 2008)
    Dancing Queen (ABBA, 1976)

    (3) "shooting star"

    female singer
lyrics I wrote down: "shooting star"
the lady's voice jumps up to falsetto on the melody

    (4) "head down" [IDENTIFIED]

    male singer
lyrics I wrote down: "head down", "shoes off", "so long since", "just"

This was also played in a Burgerville in Washington state in 2009. Other songs played in that same restaurant that same day that I identified are:

    Seriously (Crosby Loggins, 2009)
    All Right (Christopher Cross, 1983)
    Be OK (Ingrid Michaelson, 2008)
Goodnight and Go (Imogen Heap, 2005)

Bring Me Up (Lisa Loeb, 2002)
    Sister Golden Hair (America, 1975)
What's Right Is Right (Taylor Hicks, 2009)
    Satellite (Guster, 2006)
Brand New Start (Little Joy, 2008)
Glory of Love (Peter Cetera, 1986)

See How I Run (Jessie Baylin, 2008)
Don't Hold Back Your Love (Hall & Oates, 1990)

    (5) "it doesn't matter if it's rainin'"

    male singer
lyrics I wrote down: "it doesn't matter if it's rainin'", "we'll get together ?son"

Again, this was a Burgerville in the same year & location as above, and other songs played there that day are:

See How I Run (Jessie Baylin, 2008)
For Your Babies (Simply Red, 1991)
If You Would Come Back Home (William Fitzsimmons, 2009)
The End Of The Innocence (Don Henley, 1989)
    This Is Home (Switchfoot, 2008)

Here are the lyrics I found, and how they match up to what I wrote...

    ----------

Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba.
Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba.
    You can talk all night.
    Why not let it die?
    You want to be right.
    I don't want to fight.
Please just let me sleep I'm very tired.
And we can talk about it when I'm feeling more alive.

Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba.
Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba.
    I dream you are blind.
    I stare into your eyes.
    You see only white.
Or is it black, I can't decide?
You say are you there and I just smile.
I just sit in silence -- let you wonder for a while.

Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba.
Ba ba ba ba. Ba ba ba ba

That has to be the one, too. Thanks!

Since I write these lyrics on a single pass on a single listening, they absolutely must be in chronological order, and usually with gaps between the lyrics I wrote down since the song was playing while I concentrated on writing down fragments of lyrics. So the song you found fits that pattern perfectly. I was unable to find the lyrics anywhere online, but some longer lyric fragments at the points I wrote them down are:

"lay my head down", "take your shoes off", "It's been so long since I heard a man speak", "watch the spillways when the water starts risin'" (what I heard as "just" was probably "watch")

The reason I couldn't hear a lot of these lyrics better is that all of a sudden Burgerville turned down their music system after my first few days of writing down song lyrics there, so with the low volume and ambient restaurant noise, I gave up after a few days, but I did want to identify the ones I did write down.

Yes, I'm kind of embarrassed I even put that one down to identify. Per Google, there are only...

    About 1,780,000 results (0.28 seconds)

The only clue that will likely positively identify it will be an obvious falsetto in the melody from a female singer. I didn't post some songs that had even fewer clues than this one, since they were obviously going to be impossible to positively identify.

    Actually, the song may be...

    Shooting Star (Amy Diamond)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwbmhYt8SQg

...since her voice goes into high "ooh"'s in a couple places but by now I don't remember it well enough to say for sure. I'm going to say that this Amy Diamond song is the best ID we're likely to get, based on so few clues. Thanks for your valiant efforts.

I did not find a good match for the #5 lyrics.
Try "Never, Never" by Natural Vibrations

Oh baby you and I, are like birds of a feather
Where ever you go girl you know I'll be there
It doesn't matter if it's raining sunny weather
    For you know girl
Cuz I'll be there for you, Oh yeah
    I'll be there for you
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

That's a darned good guess, thanks. I listened to it twice at your link but I don't think that's the correct song since the "we'll get together" part isn't close enough to any other lyrics in the song that I could have mistaken them. (The "son" being part of "sunny" is a great guess, though.) There is another inherent clue in all these song lyrics that is less obvious: the lyrics I wrote down would have to be prominent in the song: the most audible, and the most clear, and probably with the fewest obscuring instruments, since this was a noisy environment and I was intending to rely on those lyrics later for identification. Similarly, if there are any prominent lyrics in the target song that I missed, that's a similar hint that I probably would have chosen those lyrics instead to write down. Since then I've changed the way I write down such lyrics: nowadays I always write the style, vocalist sex, and I put a bar over any questionable parts, which is faster than trying to bracket off parts with question marks when jotting down notes in a hurry. Thanks again for your great guess, though.
