If you don't know who the singer is, I'd appreciate it if you helped me discern the lyrics.

Ρεμπέτικο για πάντα. Μάγκες είμαστε.
Mixalopoulos, you have to listen to my sample again. It's definitely not the same song.
Have you got the full track to upload?
Ρεμπέτικο για πάντα. Μάγκες είμαστε.
Unfortunately, no.
Here are your lyrics as heard in the clip. No Google results so far maybe in 24h
A man was killed in Reno
I've gotta to get to Mexico
They say i did it but it wasn't so
Oh no! Oh no!...Oh no!
I met a boy in Santa Fe
The kind you don't meet every day
I want to be with him, but i can't stay
Oh no!
Fell in love with the sheriff's son
He didn't know i was on the run
But when he (wakes or waits) tomorrow in the morning sun
I'll be half way to San (Anton??)
That was amazing, BlueNileFan!
I would never have come this far at THAT quality!
Think I've found something (thanks to BlueNileFan's findings, that is):

LYNDA VIRTU - "Sheriff's Son" (1979)
British singer (not American; she also took part at the 1979 ESC (UK) preselection with the song "You Are My Life")
"Sheriff's Son" was covered in Finnish by PÄIVI (Kautto-Niemi) and entitled "Miksi joudut sä naimisiin"
(cf. http://www.discogs.com/release/1845644 )
Rare ... Do not expect to find any sound samples in the net, therefore.

BlueNileFan, thanks a lot for decyphering the lyrics!
pianoman74, how did you manage to come with song's title and performer!? That's quite a feat. You're right, it seems to be extremely rare, so it will be difficult to make sure.
Well, to answer your question: in a two-step fashion.
First step was looking for "Sheriff's Son" on discogs.
I found the Finnish artist there. OK, so a song with this title really existed *AND* an English original, too, because on the Finnish album, the English song title was added in parentheses.
Second step then was looking this up on musicstack which brought up that Lynda Virtu single.
Actually no big deal...

Yes, but for me "Sheriff's son" is not the most obvious title. I was thinking "Oh no", or "On the run" or "Fugitive", things like that.
Of course we don't yet know if it is actually "Sheriff's son"(
Yeah but I'm pretty positive that's it.
Idea: Try to find Lynda Virtu's "You Are My Life" Eurovision preselection song and try to determine by yourself whether the voice is identical or not. Both were 1979, so she was same age...
Pianoman,
You're right!
Here's a preview of Paivi's cover version
Track #19 Miksi jouduit naimisiin (Sherrif's Son)

I don't know if this is the full song by Paivi. The link will not play in the USA due to licensing restrictions...
