Very impressive drums- I need an artist/title

I don't know any of the lyrics of the song (it has been years since I've heard it on the radio), but I remember that it starts out with some very heavy drums like drum corps drums and sounds like some kind of battle music. I believe I remember some bagpipes coming in on top of the drums a little ways into the song. This song's opening sounds like what you would hear an old Scottish army playing when marching into battle. After this opening, the song becomes a rock song but I don't remember anything else about it (I guess because I was so impressed with the opening). Does anyone know the title/artist of the song I am referring to? I was thinking it was the Hooters but evidently it is not as I previewed all of their music listed in iTunes and cannot find this song. I am hoping there is a rock enthusiast out there who will know the name or artist of this song from my lacking description. Please help me if you are out there.

Fleetwood Mac I think was a First...TUSK......the TROJANS of So.Cal.
then the other week I heard some Band on ELLEN use a Marching Band.....
Then there is actual Black&Tan Albums.....
Or Police Department Titles or Tributes.....

Thanks for your response, hLpmuse. The song I am thinking of was recorded by a band who would be considered hard rock or more heavy than Fleetwood Mac. The opening of the song that I am thinking of does not conjure up images of a marching band, but rather, as I described previously, an army going into battle. It would make you think of or have visions of the movie Braveheart. Thanks again for the response.

A british rock band called Big Country used a lot of heavy drums / bagpipes on their music. Two that spring to mind are called Fields of Fire and In a Big Country.
