    Default 90's R&B...trouble with a song.

Okay...I was asked by my girlfriend to find the name of a song and I thought it would be a cake-walk but it's driving me insane! It's a 90's song by a female R&B artist. It's over a hip hop beat that I'm pretty sure became a classic beat. The lyrics for the chorus/hook are:

    I don't wanna be wrong
    But it feels right
If loving you is so wrong
    I don't wanna go on

    That's all I know.

Hope it's enough to go on. It's in the same category as Faith Evans/MJB type stuff.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a cover/re-mix of the Al Green & Bobby Womack classic 'If Loving You Is Wrong', but I have to say I'm not certain.

"If Lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right,
If being right means being without you,
I'd rather live a long lonely life"

Not sure if that helps, but I'll get back to you if I find anything further.

Back again! This song has been covered by MANY artists. Hardly surprising really, as it is a great piece of music. I have found a version by an artist named 'Joe' although I don't remember it personally. If it is a more uptempo version perhaps you'd be better off trying the 2000 version called 'Am I Wrong?' by Etienne De Crecy.

Not sure if this allowed, but here's a link to the relevant information. (Please let me know if this is againt the rules here tho mods! Thanks)

Thanks nordberg...but these aren't the songs...this is hip hop R&B and you're probably right about it being a remake of some sort. The search is still on!

Damn!! I thought that had to be it! You're sure its not the version by Joe, whoever he/she is!! Lol. Apart from that, I'm stumped! Sorry!

    Good luck!

P.S. Its not 'I Don't Want To Do Wrong', by Gladys Knight & The Pips, is it? ;o)

It's called "So Good" and it's by Davina. The song came out in the late 90's, like around '98. Definitely a nice groove!

Never have I been so mystified
    By anyones love before
    It feels so natural
I keep commin' back for more
    And each time we touch
You open up a new door
Baby your such a midnight tease
It's gonna take everything to keep you from me
    Hey-eh ye
And the joy that your lovin brings
Can separate the mountains from the sea

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right (hey)
If lovin you is so wrong (no no)
    I don't wanna go on

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right
    It feels Good
Soo Good Soo Good Soo Good

    Spent so many nights
    Beliving I was wrong
For you being in my life
    Can't ignore it when
Some say that it ain't right
    But I decided
You're the best thing that happened in my life
I haven't had everything (oh no)
But you come close to everything that I need (hey eh yeah)
In heaven's eyes love is embraced
    between you and I
Now that we have each other
    I don't have to dream

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right
If lovin you is so wrong
    I don't wanna go on

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right
    It feels right
    It feels Good
Soo Good Soo Good Soo Good

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right
    Lovin' you is soo strong
    It can't be wrong

    I don't wanna be wrong
    but it feels right
    It feels Good
Soo Good Soo Good Soo Good"

Whoa!! We're not worthy, we're not worthy!! Lol. Thats excellent detective work there Vette. I am impressed. I can't say I know of the track, and there is always a possibility it wasn't released here in the UK, but credit where credit is due - I thought that one may never be solved.

    Well done!

    Thanks!

I own the CD, that's why it was so familiar to me. The artist and album kinda came in under the radar (meaning not a lot of publicity), but it's a nice album.

Well, if all your advice that you give on here is from knowledge built around your own collection, then it must be a very fine colletion indeed!! You certainly seem to have plenty of info on a lot of pretty obscure tracks. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, nordberg! But if you think my collection is obscure, you should see my husband's.
