the begining of shakiras new song hips dont lie before she starts singing that beat in the begining is from a rap/hiphop song from 96 to 99 and it says like new york play play on midwest play play on ifu can think of this song it would bemuch appreciated ty

It's from "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)" by Peter Gunz & Lord Tariq, who also used a song by Steely Dan called "Black Cow" in the rest of the "Uptown Baby" track.

Also, incase no one knows this... The original song is by Wyclef and Claudette Ortiz from the Movie "Dirty Dancing Havana Nights"

Shakira and Wyclef re-did it. Wyclefs part is the same, but Shakira re-wrote the womans parts.
