Anyone out there know who performed a song by this title back in the late 60's?

Is it by Paul Revere and The Raiders

It is by Paul Revere & The Raiders, although the record label lists them simply as "The Raiders." Earlier than this version, Don Fardon sang that same song but it's probably not the artist you're inquiring about, although both were from the 1960s. Don Fardon's version dates back to about 1965, whereas The Raiders' version was from 1971 or 1972, I'm thinking. Definitely sometime in the early 1970s.

It's commonly known as Cherokee Nation but its official title is "Cherokee Nation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian)". FYI.
