The song Chariots of fire was redone with lyrics. I thought Bob Seager did it but I am having trouble finding what it's called or who sang it.

I'm coming up with Jon Anderson as the writer of the lyrics
There is one freedom
Man running along
Each step that he's taking
A step to his soul
The passion and courage
It takes to be there
A man and his spirit
Alive in the air
And if he should stumble
as he goes
If he should fall
It won't really matter
If he knows
he gave it his all
Let no one surround himself with pain
But use it to free him
The game is to learn to live again
A race to the end
Interlude]
The circles together
Hold hands to the sky
A man and his spirit
he's learning to fly
And if he should stumble
as he goes
If he should fall
It won't really matter
If he knows
he gave it his all
Let no one surround himself with pain
But use it to free him
The game is to learn to live again
A race to the end
Thanks, does he sing it too?
I couldn't find that out. Let me check one more thing and I'll get back to you.
It looks like he did sing it also. He formed a duo w/Vangelis and they released albums under the name "Jon and Vangelis"
How or where would I find this tune???
The song referred to by jetstew is called 'Race To the End' and is the vocal adaptation of the musical theme from the Oscar winning film Chariots of Fire. It was written but not recorded by Jon Anderson (from the band YES) although Vangelis and Jon did 4 albums together.
It was recorded by a former Vangelis band member, Demis Roussos (both are Greek) and you can find the new or used CDs the song is on at Amazon.com. The album titles are:
-Greatest Hits by Roussos, Demis (Audio CD - 2003)
-The Singles+ by Roussos, Demis (Audio CD - 2003)
-Forever and Ever: Gold Music by Roussos, Demis (Audio CD - 2002)
-Golden Years by Roussos, Demis (Audio CD - 2002)
Hope this helps!
thanks a million
