Hi there, I'm new here but I've got nowhere else to turn for help to this. Here's the situation.
I'm looking for a song that I cannot remember. I can't remember the title, artist, any lyrics or even a scrap of melody. They come to the back of my mind, but I can't grab them. I know that I will recognize the song when/if I can hear it. All I can do is ask for help trying to narrow down my search. Here's what I've got:
1. When I heard this song the first time, I thought it was Kelly Clarkson. It is not, but it is the same style song as her "Already Gone" and someone with a very similar voice.
2. As I mentioned, it's similar in style and message to K.Clarkson's "Already Gone." Both of them (if I remember correctly) are an "F-you breakup" song, triumphant even.
3. Going hand in hand with this, it featured pretty prominently on a Canadian radio station that specialized in 60's-present but mostly Top40 music during the summer of 2008-2010, or the same period of time as "Already Gone" (hence the confusion). I don't remember the exact year, but I know it was summer. So it could be American, Canadian (what with the 30% rule)... or British...
4. I once had the song on an old iPod, and the name of the singer was not unfamiliar. I want to say a last name of "S", but I've had no luck.
I don't expect anyone to be able to bullseye the song off of this much info, but any suggestions at all will be greatly appreciated. It was a great song, and I'd just like to track it down and listen to it again. So anything at all that might help would be awesome. Even an engine that I can use to try and search more on my own.
Thanks so much in advance, and I hope I'm not asking too much. If any more info is required, I'll do my best to provide it.
