I'm guessing this song came out somewhere between 1997-2002.
I remember hearing it first during an opening highlight of US Open tennis on CBS featuring Venus Williams and other players.
Medium to medium fast song - It opens with a very heavy bass clef piano groove - a very urban sound. Here are the piano groove notes (play in bass clef for full effect): D sharp quarter note - D sharp quarter note - A sharp eighth note - A sharp eighth note - F quarter note - F quarter note - F eighth note - F eighth note - F sixteenth note - F sixteenth note - F sixteenth note (REPEAT)
Then, what seems like a female voice or young adolescent male voice comes in and the only lyric I remember repeats "I want to thank you . . . . ." over and over. There are other lyrics, but it was more of a minimalist dance-groove kinda song. Might of been something about being a hero or something.
This tune might have even appeared in a Nike commerial, but I wouldn't swear to that.
Anything here ring a bell to give me a title and artist?
