Arrow Scottish Music...

Anyone here know any good Scottish Music? I've heard of Seven Nations, and Celtic stuff like Enya, Celtic Woman and Ashley MacIsaac...but is there anyone else with that type of music, or something along those lines? It's for a wedding reception and the bride-to-be is asking me to find some since the groom is nuts about it and wants it to be played at least half of the time if not all.

Cheers!

Not being a smarta*!; google "Scottish music". There's more Scottish music hits than you could ever use.

Thank you lac1948...I listened to them...but they are a bit slow for what I'm looking for. I'm looking for fast paced, upbeat Scottish music (almost bordering on techno if there is any) and as for you logan01, yes...I tried google obviously and that wasn't much of a help. It came up with mostly old stuff with fiddles and bagpipes and no good beat to it. I appreciate you helping.

Cheers!

Look in Wikipedia under "Bouncy Techno" (a.k.a., Tartan techno)

Artists you may want to check out are:
Techno Tom Wilson
Peatbog Faeries (their debut album was "Mellowosity")
Martyn Bennett ("Bothy Culture")
Mark Saul (CD "Mixolydian")
The Time Frequency

The Scots get all the attention when it comes to the bagpipes.
I prefer the Irish version, the Uilleann Pipes
(they're more complicated to play and have a wider and more range of sounds)
I was surprised to not find an Irish version of Tartan Techno
I guess it is hard to get us to give up our drinking songs

Other current artists you may want to check out are Suburban Delay, The Time Frequency, Q-Tex, QFX and Ultra-Sonic (Techno Tom Wilson past away in 2004)
