ive tried to google this for months with no luck. It sounds like an old drunken sailor mumbling for the entire song, but at the chorus each time he sings something that sounds like

    "con-CEN-trate,
    con-CEN-trate,
    con-CEN-trate on business,
    business."

I'd have to categorize it as a bluesy, folksy genre, but it's ridiculous enough that it has to have been intentionally humorous. im pretty sure it's not a capalla, but it's very simple other than the lyrics. I'm seriously about to post an mp3 of me grunting out what i remember of this song I want to find it so badly.

I think the song you want is "God's Away on Business" by Tom Waits. Not exactly the same as what you quoted, but it would be easy to misunderstand on a casual listenng. It's on the soundtrack of the documentary, "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room." At least that's where I heard it.

GOD'S AWAY ON BUSINESS (Tom Waits/Kathleen Brennan)
I'd sell your heart to the junkman baby
For a buck, for a buck
If you're looking for someone to pull you out of that ditch
You're out of luck, you're out of luck

    Ship is sinking
    The ship is sinking
    The ship is sinking

There's a leak, there's a leak in the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
    Killers, thieves and lawyers

    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business
    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business

Digging up the dead with a shovel and a pick
    It's a job, it's a job
Bloody moon rising with a plague and a flood
Join the mob, join the mob
It's all over, it's all over
    It's all over

There's a leak, there's a leak in the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
    Killers, thieves and lawyers

    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business
God's away, God's away on business, business

Godddamn there's always such a big temptation
To be good, to be good
There's always free cheddar in a mousetrap, baby
    It's a deal, it's a deal

    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business
    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business

I narrow my eyes like a coin slot baby
Let her ring, let her ring

    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business
    God's away, God's away
    God's away on business, business

Glad it worked out. I had just watched the movie the day before you posted the question, so good timing. And your description "sounds like an old drunken sailor mumbling" -- that HAD to be Tom Waits.
