Default 60's Song Identity and Group

Some time during the mid to late 60's (1966-1968), Iremember hearing a popular song that I have not heard since. The "sound" was similar to the Four Tops, and I seem to remember a reoccurring lyric that sounded to me like:

    Mary's the girl,
    Mary's the face
    Mary's the time
    Mary's the place....

It was definately Motown sound but I've tried Googling everything without any success. I'd really like to know the name of the song and the Group so that I could acquire the song.

    Thanks all
    Mongo

Closest song I can find is "Meet Me At Mary's Place" by Sam Cooke

A friend of mine told me one early mornin'
    (Over at Mary's place, ho)
Said tonight there's gonna be a party goin' on
    (Over at Mary's place, ho)
He said "If you can enjoy a real nice affair
    (Over at Mary's place, ho)
Then you'll make it your business to be right there"
    (Over at Mary's place, ho)
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

    Default Thanks but...

....no cigar. I know the song that you listed but this one is different. It might have been one of the one hit wonders. Someone, somebody out there knows.
