Need help remembering a song

I'm having trouble remembering a song that I used to hear on the radio. I don't remember much of the lyrics but the song was about a riot and at the end of the chorus there was something about the parents waking up next morning with a note on the porch I belive. sorry for the small amont of info

How about "There's a Riot Goin' On" by Sly & The Family Stone?

Sly & The Family Stone's, "There's a Riot Goin' On" is the name of their 1971 album (no song with same title)

The Roots have a song called "There's A RIOT Goin On" on their 1993 album, "Organix" but I cannot find lyrics anywhere. Also, The Dirty Royals have a song called "There's A RIOT Goin On" on their 2006 album, "Obsessed America" but it does not have any lyrics about parents or porches.

Numerous artists including Commander Cody & the Lost Planet Airmen, The Blues Brothers, etc have done a cover of the Coasters 1971 song, "Riot In Cell Block Number Nine" but the lyrics are not a match for your request.

I guess I will quit, now that I have told you everything I don't know...

Oops! I messed that up. I do remember a song, light in tone /non-aggessive so to speak, which had a chorus of "there's a riot goin' on". In the chorus, that line would repeat 1 or 2 more times. Kind of a soft blues tune. Oh well, it was obviously not Sly. I know it's not the one the poster is inquiring about, I'm just trying to save face.

It's not that old of a song I think it came out last year or the year before
