Angel...pale eyes??

I've heard this song on the car radio several times but they never say who sings it. It's a slow song, with a guy singing. The lyrics go something like: "The angel opens (or maybe CLOSES?) her eyes -- pale (something -- colored, maybe?) eyes." The radio station had no playlist available last time I heard it. Any help out there???? Thanks!
