need help with dance / electronica
heard a cool dance song at a club and asked the dj what the name of it was, but he was bothered by my question. and it's been stuck in my head since last night.
he introduced it as "here comes the sun" (definitely not the beatles song), and it's sung by a woman. what i could make out of one of the lyrics was "into the sun", which was at the end of the lyric. and from what i can remember, the synth and the woman's singing blended.
not much to go on, but any help would be great! thanks in advance!

Nina Simone and Linda Eder both have done covers of George Harrison's (Beatles), "Here Comes the Sun".

thanks for the quick response. it definitely wasn't a cover of a beatles song. this was a different song altogether.

Organised Konfusion have Walk Into the Sun
Velvet Underground did Ride Into the Sun
Lifehouse did Into the Sun.
The problem with dance tracks is they're often sampled from cover versions of songs done by random people nobody's ever heard of. Findint the original might help lead you to it? Also, what genre of dance music was it?

thanks for the response. actually i have more details, as i heard it again last night. unfortunately same dj, so he wouldn't say what the title was.
definitely an electronic beat as the drum. in fact, before the "catchy" part of the song starts up at the intro, there are four or five drum beats before the synth kicks in. very few words in the song, from what i can remember, but definitely "into the sun" closed out the lyric.
i would call it "club / electronica" more than anything else.
i checked the songs you mentioned, and they weren't the one. i'll try your suggestion and see if i can figure out the source sample, if it is a cover.

Y'all got me thinking about a song called "Into the Sun" by one of my fav groups, Grand Funk Railroad. I tried unsuccessfully to find a cover of this song. However, I did stumble across a different song with the same title that is close to one you're looking for.
Try "Into the Sun" by Weekend Players. This song is on DJ Icey's "For the Love of the Beat" CD (2004) and Armin van Buuren's "Transparance 004" CD (2005).

The song has to be uploaded to a file sharing website or some users place the file on their webpage. Then you attach a link to the appropriate webpage in your reply.

Ok, pardon the cell-phone quality file and the even poorer attempt at trying to hum the tune. Hopefully this will be the clue that solves this. Here's the link:
File Downloads
It should play in QuickTime. Once again, I'm sorry for the poor quality.

could it possibly be "Dangerous power" by Gabriel & Dresden? It's my favorite club song right now!

no, unfortunately it is not that song either. i did hear it again this past weekend, and i recorded certain sections of the song to my cell phone. 15-sec clips. the clips should play in quicktime. here's the link:
File Downloads
you should be able to hear the song in the background. once again, i apologize for the poor quality. any help would be greatly appreciated!

No problem.
There are some songs, that you hear only couple of notes, and you know it at any time and any place.
Mate, Planet Funk is genius band, get more of them (song "inside all the people "is BOMB!) old stuff, but good (album "Non Zero Sumness" year 2002)
Have a great day!
