Hi, we are having a bit of an argument here, could you please tell me who sang the song and the tilte of Cherokee People, Cherokee Pride to Proud to Live to Proud to Die
"Indian Reservation" by Paul Revere and the Raiders
They took the whole Cherokee nation
Put us on this reservation
Took away our ways of life
The tomahawk and the bow and knife
Took away our native tongue
And taught their English to our young
And all the beads we made by hand
Are nowadays made in Japan
Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die
They took the whole Indian nation
Locked us on this reservation
Though I wear a shirt and tie
I am still part redman deep inside
Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die
But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee nation will return, will return, will return, will return, will return
You win; It was Paul Revere and the Raiders. Please, find something else to argue about, for example, how do you turn this cold a#* winter into something a bit warmer?![]()
Thanks Logan, I quess I did win the argument, do you know if anyone else did this song and what year that it came out?
Don Fardon had a "hit" with the song in the U.K. The hit in the U.S. was by Paul Revere and the Raiders. I believe Fardon's hit was in 1970 and The Raiders was in 1971. Maybe you are both right; that's how it should be, eh.
