Hi. Ok. I believe R.E.M. does this song. I do not know if theirs is the original version, because I heard someone else doing it.

Just brainstormed & googled "Gears of War commercial song" and it came up...

"Mad World" by Gary Jules. Not sure if REM ever covered it, and there is a Tears For Fears song with the same name.

I wonder if it's the same song?

It's the same as the Tears for Fears. Gary Jules version is used in the Gears of War. Personally, though I'm a big fan of Tears for Fears, I much prefer the Jules version.
