need help w/ old reggae song

i've been trying to find out who the artist is who sings a certain song. it's sung by a lady, and the song is often mixed in w/ hip hop songs. it has trumpets in the background and has a slow funky beat. i can't understand what she's saying, except for what sounds like:

bom bom, the water bom bom, bom bom bi dom, bom bom

it sounds stupid, but it's a really laid back song.

i was looking for a song that sounds like an old school reggae song - with bang bang in the chorus (male vocals but female chorus). any help would be much appreciated!!
