Song/Group help needed

Have just about googled every verse in the song but no joy, I guess you either know it or dont, forget the game, its the song/artist I want please?

Yeah I tried that, sent them 3 emails, which they iignored.

I also was unsuccessful in finding any match on the lyrics. The artist sounds a lot like Ben Folds to me. However, my son who is raving Ben Folds fan is not convinced.

I spoke to someone who works for the cricket club and they told me that it was done by a group of session musicians who let the club use their demos. Apparently they used to work with Oasis in the past - notice the similarity.

I could've sworn I'd heard that song before though.

Agree though it does sound familar, I have deffo heard it before. Any idea what the group are called?

Well, according to what I was told, they did not actually have a name and were just a few session musicians who never got signed up with a record deal or anything but.....I'm really not sure how accurate that info is.

Ok - here's what I was able to find out.

The band who played the music were called Raika - they no longer exist. The band included the former drummer of Oasis [Tony McCarroll] and they made no recordings for release. However, the guy who wrote that music on the Lancs TV site is reforming the band and they will probably bring out that and other songs that Raika did. He tells me that they are to be called The Braemars* [he was very involved with Oasis at their beginning and informs me that that* was going to be Oasis's name originally]
If I hear anything more I'll let you know.

This has to get bumped. One of the best songs I have ever heard. What a Travesty that Raika never got a contract, how frustrating must it be to do top tunes like that while tat gets in the charts.
