Are you talking about Das Komissar? There are two versions of the song: The well known (popular) one is done by after the fire and the other one (the unpopular version) is done by Falco (of Rock me amadeus fame).

I don't like the english version from after the fire. It sounds so strange.
But maybe it's only because I'm growing up with the falco version

But the interesting thing is: he clearly writes "the ... is back in town", while the song goes "The Kommissar's in town".
That can't be just a coincidence...?
