Driving me crazy! I partially have the lyrics, but need the band and title

This was a song sung by a male & female duo in ... perhaps the 80's? with kind of a sultry "hot summer day" sound to it. The chorus goes:

(Forgive me if I get some of the words wrong)

"Shake your hair (out) and come and dance with me... We are lonely with no good need to be... (as) the river flows wild to (catch?) the sea...floods the delta ... (can't remember).

I think the title had "Delta" in it, and perhaps the male's name was David (I remember he came from a pretty popular band).
