need to identify this song. Very difficult

I spent a very long time searching many sites and using my advanced google skills to no avail. I need to find this the title of this song for a friend.

It's a mellow, laid back song, and these are the lyrics I can remember:

"Say, did you come over here just to pick apart my brain? Why did you have to make me feel so strange? This is a feeling that won't ever go away."

I'd be very happy if someone IDd it.

It was a man singing, and I heard it on the local college radio station(
The Cahulawassee River). Ambient-mellow. I'd say it was new, I'd never heard it before. But it might have been older, can't say for sure.
